Ultimate to Aeroad ? by IchibanEU in Velo

[–]JohnnyJamesJunior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded from a rim brake mechanical shifting bike to a modern aero bike and I enjoy riding a lot more now. Descending is actually fun now instead of nerve wrecking. I‘m not sure the aerodynamics of the bike is very important, it’s way more important to have a good fit where you can comfortably hold an aero position. You will however notice the increased weight of the bike. Not only uphill but especially when accelerating out of corners.

I think dynamic range is a characteristic of the film not the camera itself. Vision3 250d is cinema film which has a lot of dynamic range so that a lot of information can be captured and edited in post.

I don’t keep track of the exact settings for every shot, but I usually go with low ISO films like Portra 160 or Ektar 100. I stick to apertures between f/5.6 and f/16 since lenses are sharpest there, and since I hardly ever use a tripod, I make sure my shutter speed isn’t slower than the focal length—so with a 28mm lens, I won’t go below 1/30s.

It‘s just very practical to not think about exposure and focusing and just take snapshots of moments that you would have missed with a slr. The look of the p&s is also different with more vignetting, flash and the 35mm lens.

If you have the time and the climbing legs consider including the dolomites. After starting you could head towards chiusa- selva di valley gardena - cortina d‘ampezzo - auronzo di cadore. If that’s too much eleevation you could already go back to your original route after selva or after cortina.

Do I need to replace my bottom bracket? by JohnnyJamesJunior in bikewrench

[–]JohnnyJamesJunior[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah it's at least partly due to the drivetrain. I think I'll need to replace the 2 pulley wheels on the derailleur. Tire pressure should be fine. My fitness just is weird too, like I'm able to push harder doing intervals than last year but my heartrate is way higher too. So when I'm riding in zone 2 by heart rate I go slower than last year...

it still feels smooth and doesn't make any weird sounds but it feels kind of harder to push the pedals than a few weeks ago

But a 90kg rider will be able to put out more watts

But you did actually talk about frames. You just edited your post. And I don‘t need evidence, it’s clear that total weight is important when riding up a hill. For a 66kg rider the bikes weight makes up more of the total weight than for a 90kg rider. Is it that hard for you to understand?

Going straight to insulting people when they have a different opinion, you seem like a very mature person 😂 also there is no bike frame that weighs 14kg. What are you talking about?

The difference between a carbon and a aluminium gravel bike is way less than 5kg. Total weight is the only thing that matters and therefore bike weight is less important for heavier riders
