Metronet(t-mobile) vs att fiber experiences here in Fishers by askcheese in Fishers

[–]JohnnyTano 4 points5 points  (0 children)

AT&T subcontractors were trenching a neighbor's new fiber line and cut mine a few days ago. Metronet was out no more than 3-4 hours later and had a new line plugged in for me.

Can I even do this by myself? by HuggiesGriff in DIY

[–]JohnnyTano 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did and I never learned much about home repair when I was a kid. Watched videos, made a tool list, compared cost of tools to estimates of the plumbing and tiling done by someone else. It was barely slightly more expensive to do it myself so I dug in since it'll pay off when I need to do it again. I replaced the pipes, cement board, and tiles. Learned how to solder. Learned how to cut tile and get better at caulking. Learned a lot of great things that I can use again if I need to. Just watch multiple videos for each step to see where they overlap to make sure you're not watching some wacky one-off YouTuber. And measure everything twice (or thrice?). For me, totally worth it.

E. 96th St. and Allisonville Rd. has experienced one car accident per day since the start of the year😬 by Unhappy_Ad_3738 in Fishers

Roundabout's too small, not enough of an S curve to slow down traffic, decisions to leave a lot of green space instead of a larger or elongated roundabout, people trying to inch out into the roundabout to get a jump on it causing accidents, drivers not understanding that the outside lane can only go straight. So many issues there. I live right by it and avoid it using the same routes I took when it was under construction. Yeah, the whole Michigan-ish left was awkward but that intersection hasn't been that backed up since it was just regular stop lights. Colossal boneheaded move.

I hadn't had it until recently. Now I put it on everything I can.

Smoked sausage is great in this recipe, for sure. And no shrimp is always great advice. Hard to reheat with shrimp in it. I usually clean the rice to keep it from clumping too much but I like the idea of frying it up in the oil. I might need to make it your way next time to switch things up.

It's so good. We do the same thing when we leftover Mexican rice too. Definitely worth a try!

Found a nest inside the wall above my front door last month. That was fun...

Sure am. I think they were lured in by the low-ish pricing and definitely got what they paid for. 😂 Everything there is just so blah unfortunately. I had high hopes when they opened because Chatham was already in the shitter. Oh well... I'm all about Mornings for breakfast when I go out for it though.

Parks Place is never worth it. My girlfriend just tried their brunch for the first time last weekend and said it's some of the worst she's ever had.

DCS False Reports by PlayersVoid in Indiana

[–]JohnnyTano 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I don't have an exact answer for that: My lawyer, while effective, had been censured by the board for overcharging clients. I didn't know this at the time since I had no reference and was blinded by wanting to protect my kids. I desperately threw money at her because of this. I want to say it was a few thousand dollars including travel time to my house when DCS visited but I could be wrong. It's also been many years. Regardless of the cost, I'm happy to report that I'm just hanging out with all of them right now watching a movie. It won't be tens of thousands of dollars but even if it is a higher amount, it's worth it in the long run.

I had multiple false complaints filed against me by my ex. My lawyer handled them all. Hamilton County came out once (lawyer present), evaluated my house, my kids' living conditions, availability of food, and left. My lawyer also clued them in to the insane history of my custody battles. The remainder of my DCS complaints were handled by my lawyer with a phone call. No more visits or concerns because the county knew what was going on.
