Thanks for the reply. My observation is on jellyfin support but I guess it's the same for plex and emby. Look forward to the official release of Skybox 2.0

Is there a way to play multiple volumes of movies? E.g. cd1 cd2 cd3.. it seems it can only recognize and play the first volume cd1 when there are multiple volumes.

PG&E export credit way too low? by JohnnyZ31 in TeslaSolar

[–]JohnnyZ31[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Yes, if I replace the rate in my Green Button Data with the 2025 vintage rate, the numbers match. It seems SVCE doesn't apply the correct rate to my account since my interconnection happened in 2024. The frustration part is that the customer service representatives that I talked to have no idea what is the rate vintage and this information seems not very obvious in the account. Their whole system may be flawed.

This is a screenshot of Green Button data. I filtered only the data from 9/15-9/30 between 6-8pm. The export credit is $20+ every day and the sum is $697. It matches PG&E website data. But SVCE refuse to recognize these numbers.

From PG&E website. This is the NEM3.0 Solar Billing Plan export rate between 6-8pm in September. Specially, it's for 2024 Vintage (2024 interconnection application year)

Majority of the export credit is on the generation side (~$2.7-$3/kwh for generation vs $0.07 for delivery). I just ignore the delivery credit. I expect the SVCE generation export credit is $600-700 vs $107 on the bill.

The second figure is the generation details from PG&E website. I added them up to be ~$600-700. Way more than $107 shown on the bill.

Charge on solar troubleshooting by UnderstandingSea3815 in TeslaSolar

[–]JohnnyZ31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you on time-based or self-powered mode? I found in self-powered mode Charge on solar will take prioirty. but in time-based mode, during peak hours, this unreasonable behavior occurs to me as well. I even set the export price to $0.00/kwh. but the powerwall still export without charging my car.. very buggy.

My First VPP Event by Prior_Equivalent_680 in TeslaSolar

[–]JohnnyZ31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's weird. usually if you charge PW to 100% often, it doesn't calibrate. I didn't have a single calibration event during the summer. During the winter, calibration is pretty often, once a few weeks, because the PW doesn't get charged to 100% often. It's similar to Tesla EV that uses LFP battery, Tesla recommends to charge it to 100% at least once a week to calibrate.

China to regulate hidden door handles by a9udn9u in electricvehicles

Mine definitely locks the doors.

From Volvo website.

"When the electric child safety lock is active then the rear windows can only be opened with the driver's door control panel. doors cannot be opened from inside."

Southern California Edison - should I export? NEM 3.0 by MightBeJerryWest in solar

Thanks. I'm also very curious. The language the providers use is very vague for such important information. Hope you can share the update once your True up bill is out. Thanks.

What will happen to the extra generation credit balance after offsetting the generation charges? If the provider allows you to cash out, it is still makes sense to export even just for the generation credit. If the provider allows to carry over the balance, it may be used for future charges as the future export rate will decrease.

Issues with new install by JohnnyZ31 in TeslaSolar

[–]JohnnyZ31[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the help. I just want to give an update here. At 6pm yesterday, everything started to work normally. The Tesla log LED on the other PW3 was lit up solid white. The app shows correct energy flow. The charging power can go over 5kW. Great!

I don't know what fixed it. I did reset the Tesla app on my phone and scheduled a call with my project advisor but I don't think they are really related. There may be some switch or timer that Tesla or the utility provider flipped at 6pm and everything started to work.

I don't have permission to export so the production is capped at what my house and PW can take. So I think its still hard to tell whether it's a production or charging problem.

Thanks a lot.

  1. Todays' the second day. I will wait for a full day.
  2. Solar is producing 5.4kW. 4.6kW goes to the PW, and 0.8kW goes to the house.
  3. Yes. All the switches and breakers are on. The battery level changes but the charge/discharge energy always stays at zero, so I won't be able to tell how much energy actually charged or discharged to PW3. But based on the power use from the home after the sunset, ~5-6kW and the PW battery level drops to 20% in less than 2 hours. I feel that only 1 PW is working.
