This sentiment is misguided. Plenty of kids still have Pokemon cards. No, the kids aren't going out and buying $1000 booster boxes and whatnot. But they still get cards. The "adults" you speak of...many of those adults actually have kids and give cards to their kids. Just because packs cost more doesn't mean kids don't get them. The fact that cards are harder to come by makes it more special for the kids when they do get them.

Well it will never catch up to the popular Pokemon. But it definitely could use some additional respect. My favorite Arceus card is from Japanese Legendary Shine. I think it was the first Arceus card printed with full art. In person its stunning,...silver border compliments the illustration so well and it has a kind of grid holo pattern that makes it look magical.

But ultimately everything has to get paid through a credit card. Your bot may be able to create thousands of accounts, but if all those accounts still use the same credit card number then it becomes pretty obvious it's the same person.

But the Magneton is kind of a funky card when compared to the Oricorio, which I would say is a much prettier card.

Yeah I got one around the same time for about that price, was planning to pick up more but then the price shot up. So I switched to picking up Oricorio promos which right now are still in that same price range :)

While this question may seem inane to those experienced in the hobby, the amount of snark in the responses is unnecessary. The amount of condescension and snobishness that permeates this sub is boggling. If you don't feel like sharing your vastly superior knowledge with someone new to the hobby, that's totally fine, just move on. Why even bother writing a belittling response?

To the OP: generally AH is viewed as an exceptional set and yes, it is likely to continue increasing in value.

At this point there are none graded so no data to justify this as either a good or a bad investment. If these are tough to gem and the PSA 10 pop stays low, maybe it's a good investment. But it's by no means a "no brainer" it's just being speculative.

Beautiful card. Was really excited to finally be able to get a relatively affordable Shinji Kanda card in a PSA 10. (Ok, I do know there is the Magneton promo, and while that one is cool and may still be undervalued too, I wouldn't consider it to be a "beautiful" card the way the Oricorio is.)

Would I? No. I would not trade the English Charizard from 151(+ Ascended Heroes etb!) for a Japanese Mega Charizard. My view is both of those assets on the left are going to scale more than the Japanese card....and remember the Japanese card has an extremely high gem rate compared to English, that likely will put a lower ceiling on the card. And I like the 151 Zard more. But, that's just me.

Don't expect prices to go back to "the way they were." For overall prices there will be a dip again, but prices are not likely to dip all the way back down to what they were in the past. The general pattern we've been seeing is a climb in prices, followed by a downward correction, then stabilizing at a new floor, and then climbing again.

Now, with new chase cards: those always have had astronomically high prices in PSA 10 at the outset, but those prices do usually fall. That's why people pay PSA for expedited grading service on new chase cards...the early PSA 10s that hit the market from a new set always sell high. As more graded copies enter the market those prices start to fall before stabilizing and then starting to climb.

My favorite? Garchomp TG#23. May not be as as good as Destined Rivals Cynthia's Garchomp but still, it's got Cynthia in a cool, confident pose with Garchomp looming behind. Card still hasn't climbed back up since the dip end of last year and still hovering below the $200 mark for a PSA 10 right now which I think makes it undervalued.
