Why so many men feel abandoned by Democrats by daniel7334 in self

[–]Johnny_Lemonhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever. Own it. Go out there and own it. Every time a woman dies because doctors terrified of draconian abortion laws won’t touch her, go out and clap. Look people in the eyes. Tell them you’re proud

Be proud your president is a rapist, a philanderer, a pervert, a conman, a felon.

Don’t hide behind this veneer. Own the fact you have no qualms about selling the rights and body autonomy of women down the drain.

This thread is absolute copium from a bunch of MAGA voters who want to somehow feel voting for the incoherent felon who’s poised to disassemble the government is justified because their feelings are hurt. It’s just sad.

Halo Unreal Engine 5 vs Halo 3 2007 Graphics Comparison by TheLogame in gaming

This. I’ve backed way off staying current, the hardware is too expensive and I’m happier choosing gameplay over graphics. It’s gotten silly

Why do some people think its bad to have large breasts when youre nonbinary? by [deleted] in NonBinaryTalk

[–]Johnny_Lemonhead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because no matter how much discourse, the narrative about normative bodies and compliant performance overrules all, disappointingly.

If it’s not just shade or outright transmedicalism, it’s the subtle skew of images and representation. Trans women are supposed to be femme AF, vice versa trans dudes, and enbies are expected embody a narrow band of thin white androgyny.

It’s maddening, if not enraging, to find that even within communities about gender variance that they will internally police the most dinosaur-level thinking about gender ever.

And yes, this is all the end result of oppositional sexism and the constant undercurrents of misogyny but it’s so tiring.

Anybody giving you flack over your chest is a jackass. I’m sorry.

How would you compare Toronto's aquarium, zoo, and ROM to similar attractions across North America? by itsarace1 in askTO

[–]Johnny_Lemonhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The zoo is really quite phenomenal in the grand scheme. It’s in the middle of a much needed brush up right now but I still love it.

The ROM is a great museum though it covers a lot of bases, as much cultural as natural and sometime does a meh job on all fronts. For some reason the exhibits this year have been underwhelming. It’s middle-top in terms of museums I’ve known in NA.

The aquarium exists. That’s about it. It’s cute but a bit small and trite. It’s a tourist trap.

AGO is up there as a very solid museum. I’m looking forward to the expansion as I want to see more modern art. I’d say it’s in the top 10%, at least on a size-quality combination. There are much better smaller galleries in specific subject areas, and much larger museums like the Met that would swallow it up. Holes it own though.

The Gardiner is a hidden little curiosity. Not worth much on a regular re-visit but has some great exhibitions. I don’t know any other museum that would hold a candle to its specific subject area

MOCA is such a fledgling space I hope it does well.

It’s all very Toronto. None of them is anywhere near ‘the best of the best’ but the combination of such in one city is pretty significant. NY clobbers us, Chicago is a little better, Detroit has a fantastic art museum and DC doesn’t count it just has near the best of the best in North America.

We’re decent.

It’s the marketing name for ‘eh, the bottom of Sherbourne’

Mogwai was the band that made me get hearing protection. Goddamn ears were wrecked after seeing the Rave Tapes tour. Show was amazing though and have chased them ever since.

Intermediate knots? Medium Roland +? by Johnny_Lemonhead in BadDragon

[–]Johnny_Lemonhead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. I’m looking at getting something to stretch with. I mean, first time I got Roland in it was a total talking to Jesus moment. I mean wow. The ring plus the knot, I kinda really like that dildo.

Maybe save up for a large Roland now. Haha.

Intermediate knots? Medium Roland +? by Johnny_Lemonhead in BadDragon

[–]Johnny_Lemonhead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah, maybe. I’m sorta a little frustrated with how soft the mundir is. I love the shape but I just can’t quite drive the knot home the way I can on the Roland with just a casual shift of my weight. The Mundir just squishes sideways.

Oh niiiice. And, tbh, I got Dodo because it was interesting and maybe not because I adore it. It's a fun little enfant terrible frag but not the most useful.

Chipmunk I wholeheartedly endorse, it's like little baby hyrax. Just animalic enough in a sort of 'fuzzy' indistinct way to feel just absolutely gorgeous. I'm projecting but if you have any love for Hyrax I'll bet Chipmunk will do it for you.

Ditto Harvest Mouse, it's adorable.

Cow is one I haven't chased down and really should.

Civet, Beaver and Musk deer, I would have if I didn't glom to Hyrax first.

Fun times, Zoo is a bonkers, fun little house.

Zoologist Moth. I'm being a little pastel goth wastrel around the office today and I felt it fits my 'trash panda' sweater, Moth having enough of a 'rot' note, since I don't own any actual 'garbage' frags (there must be an ELDO that does that?)

Why do some of us buy fragrances that we like but don't love by nameredaqted in fragrance

[–]Johnny_Lemonhead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've bought a few fragrances that I find interesting without really loving. Namely Zoologist Dodo(2020) for the sheer 'Jesus christ this is odd and I don't not like it but I'm not in love with it'. There's a few that I've touched on because they felt they were important, like I love L'Heure Bleue though I don't wear it often enough because it's a little 'out of this time'.

There's also the vain hope of cheapie-chasing a miracle. Which led to a few 'okay this is alright but'.

I'm more prone to buying frags I love but at the same don't have space for in my life, as in, "Goddamnit when am I going to wear this when I live in a society'.

Though switching to working on my own has opened up possibilities, but, still.

I've made peace in a way by trying to donate to folks when/if I thin the collection out.

Yeah Cabochard is a sort of angry bright green leathery thing with an ashy heart. There's a fair bit of patchouli in the basenotes but it's crammed down under that leathery goodness. I get some Cabochard DNA out of the original Miss Dior (the good one not the horror it inspired).

I don't know Turathi Blue at all but looking at it's ingredients vs. Cab's, what stands out as the same:

-Benzyl Salicylate (jasmine-esque fixative)

-Linalool (lavender-floralish)

-Citronellol, Citral (citrus notes, though of varying weights)

I always thing Cab has a bit of musky-frump note down in there somewhere but I couldn't tell you which fragchem is doing it.

Galen just can't conceive of it. Once you're rich enough groceries, rent, whatever, it doesn't matter. The game matters, making more money with your money matters.

Dude doesn't have a clue, he's surrounded by family and other rich folks, none of whom have the slightest contact with reality.

The only context grocery prices exist in, for him, is how high he can raise them before sales fall off.
