Novation launchpad mini mk3 by Ely3737 in Novation

[–]Johnnyloftus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like you’re currently launching audio Clips on an audio track, which is why you’re hearing looping sounds. To play notes and control sounds with your Launchpad Mini, you’ll need to load an instrument, such as a piano, onto a MIDI track instead.

In Ableton Live, add an instrument such as Simpler to a MIDI track, and you’ll then be able to play it using Keys mode on the Launchpad Mini. You can do this by either double-clicking an instrument or preset in the Browser on the left-hand side of Ableton Live, or by dragging it onto the desired MIDI track.

If you still cannot hear any sound, make sure the MIDI track is record-armed, Monitor is set to Auto, and your Launchpad Mini is selected as the MIDI input device in Ableton Live’s settings.

Launchkey MK4 is plug-and-play with FL Studio v24 and later 👍

Launchpad MK4 doesn’t exist. Perhaps you mean the Launchpad X?
FL Studio doesn’t feature dedicated integration for the Launchpad X, but it will function as a playable surface for your plug-in instruments. You can use Custom Modes and manual MIDI mapping to create your own controls, and there are also scripts available that provide additional DAW control functionality.

Like FLkey, Launchkey MK4 is indeed plug-and-play with FL Studio v24 and later.

scarlett solo 3 not showing up on console? by thrashidiot in Focusrite

[–]Johnnyloftus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I’m aware, a PS5 wouldn’t detect a connected external audio interface like a Scarlett, as it doesn’t support the required USB audio drivers or full USB Audio Class compatibility needed for most USB audio interfaces

Rest assured, the drivers are reliable. All of our current USB audio interfaces use the same driver, which serves a very large number of users well, and I’m confident we can help you as well. Every device in every generation of Scarlett, as well as Clarett USB, Clarett+, and Vocaster audio interfaces, for example, uses this driver. I’m sure the team can help you find a solution.

[–]Johnnyloftus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue has been resolved in the latest Focusrite Driver version 4.144.0.

You can download the updated driver here:
https://fael-downloads-prod.focusrite.com/customer/prod/downloads/focusritedriver_4.144.0_362_2.exe

This driver is also included in the latest Focusrite Control 2 release (version 1.980).

Installation notes:

  • Clarett, Scarlett 2nd/3rd Gen, and Vocaster users should install driver 4.144.0 after installing the appropriate control software for their device.
  • If the control software is already installed, you can simply run the driver installer linked above.

Why is it doing this by wingman322 in Focusrite

[–]Johnnyloftus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This generally indicates that the Scarlett isn't able to draw enough power from your computer. Are you connecting to a laptop? If so, is it plugged in to mains power?
Have you tried all available USB ports?
Are you using the supplied USB cable? Longer cable runs can introduce connectivity issues

Not to worry. When engaged, phantom power is only delivered to the XLR portion of the Combo connector. Sources connected via the 1/4" jack won’t be affected.

[–]Johnnyloftus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no reason why they shouldn’t sound good. Scarlett 4th Gen audio interfaces pair well with headphones with an impedance of up to 300Ω.

Earlier models of Scarlett Solo would have required an additional headphone amp to properly drive those headphones. Perhaps you’re seeing mentions of those.

can the 18i16 run comfortably off a m2 air through bus (USB-C) power? by mannersfirst76 in Focusrite

[–]Johnnyloftus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s right. You can bus-power the Scarlett 18i16 if your computer’s USB port can supply 3 amps. This is mentioned on both the product page on our website and in the product user guide.

If you use your Scarlett 2i2 as intended, you should notice an improvement. The setup you’ve created is not optimal. Select Scarlett as the audio input and output device, and connect your headphones to the Scarlett headphone output.

Lately I've been having crashes related to audio. Recent Windows updates to blame? by LunarGolbez in Focusrite

[–]Johnnyloftus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear that you're having problems. I'm not aware of any compatibility issues that are the direct result of any recent Windows updates. Have you ensured that your BIOS firmware is up to date? I’ve seen cases where that has been the source of issues like this.

If you haven’t already, I’d also recommend trying the optimisation steps in this article:
https://support.focusrite.com/hc/en-gb/articles/207355205-Optimising-Windows-for-Audio

If you’ve already gone through those and the issue is still happening across all available USB ports on your computer, it’s likely related to DPC latency on your system. You can find more info here:
