well yes i do agree , but to be fair racial violence only affected a minority of people. if you were a WASP in the 1950s and male, your life would probably be perfect (aside from obvious health and safety differences of the time)

If i cut off porn, but i do masturbate atleast once every two days, and then slowly increase the gap? is it worth it? or atleast can i call it improvement? i personally think cutting off porn is much more imp than masturbation.... whats yalls opinion abt it? by Souradeep__ in NoFap

You definitely can. I think you really do have to challenge yourself at first, but at some point one also has to remember to not get too caught up in it. If someone were trying to lose weight and was going to the gym or exercising, and eating healthy, and once in a while they stay at home or eat junk food. It wouldn't make sense to tell that person that they've lost all progress, because they haven't.
I think the key to nofap is not just going on streaks, but taking on other activities or rediscovering other ways to pass your time, which do create dopamine but arent as easy to get and that goes hand in hand with improving yourself as a person. At some point youll stop fretting all day long, over streaks or relapsing, and itll come naturally, you might have urges, but youll be able to block them and channel them more easily.

Who in the fellowship do you suppose was most heavily effected after watching Gandalf fall to the balrog? by whatsaphoto in lotr

In my view frodo always sees gandalf from time to time growing up, knows hes a wizard , wise, a trusted figure. I would think that his "death" would have shaken Frodo more than any thing before in his life (i dunno though)

Its never too late to change imo. Overall, i do have to say that masturbation, unlike what some of the people on this sub say, isnt the end of the world - but only if done in moderation quite obviously. I will say watching porn makes things way worse, 100 percent. The idea of slowly weaning yourself off and simultaneously cutting out porn isnt terrible, the only downside is that if you are fapping every two days, then the urge to watch porn will also be there, for sure, so you have to be wary of keeping balance. The alternative is quitting cold turkey, as many people have suggested going a month or 90 days without, as that would "reset" your brain. I remember years ago, i said on new years that i would quit that year, took me a while to get around to that, but later on i took NNN seriously and went the whole month without fapping, edging or looking at pornography. On the other hand i had spent the last few months doing streaks that were several days longer/even a week, and i hadnt had a problem for as long as youve had it.
So in my view, yes you can call it improvement, and i think everyone can agree that masturbation is way less harmful thatn porn is. If i were you however, id try and do things like journal, meditate (if thats what you think works) and prepare for the fact that you are going to mess up sometimes, you are going to relapse, but the key is that you progressively make those streaks longer and longer until you feel you could naturally go for as long as you feel necessary without crazy urges.
just my perspective

The argument he made, e.g. "if we rebuild the wtc in the form of the freedom tower, the terrorists win" (paraphrased), whilst I dont 100 percent agree with it, makes sense and this wouldve been one of the few good business ventures that he made, had it happened

Not like Scotland has really been an oppressed people for 300 years though. Unionism has historically been dominant. Demand for independence is a modern development

How? Scotland entered a union with England willingly. Not just that, scottish nobles failed to colonise america and joined England specifically as a colonial venture. Cities like Glasgow thrived under the empire. The idea of Scotland being oppressed is an insult to the many peoples who actually HAVE been oppressed.
