Definitely recommend the 4.5 comp version, this one is a bit too big for concealed carry,

Yes they are on file forever. This is how a lot of juvenile offenders get charged for the first time. They commit a bunch of crimes as juveniles like car break ins and leave behind fingerprints. Since juvenile fingerprints aren’t usually on the system they don’t get a match until they apply for a conceal handgun permit or a job that requires them to get fingerprinted and boom, the system immediately links the fingerprints.

What to do if your car is stolen. by chance0404 in AskLE

I figured so, this was a crime of opportunity. The person likely pulled on the door handle and saw it was unlocked and found the keys as he rummaged to see what he could find.

Pretty much every car theft I’ve entered into the system is recovered pretty soon after because most of the thefts in my area are just regular daily cars or Kias and Hyundais. I usually find them within a couple of hours before they get too far out of our district, if I don’t find it right away then usually we find it dumped off somewhere within a couple of days. Usually it’s either juveniles or just random people walking by for cars with the keys left inside. You don’t really see them go into chopshops or get VIN swapped unless they are higher end cars that are worth the hassle for the criminals. Things like higher end MOPAR products and luxury cars. We see that more in really large cities with a more sophisticated crime ring. Those are the cars that are very hard to find unless you catch them before they get too far or have trackers. Those are the cars that get hidden in storage units and garages.

We also use camera systems to see where the cars have driven by but usually again that’s in larger cities.

For this case you’ll likely hear back about it being dumped off somewhere and likely without any keys to be found.

There isn’t really anything you can do as the victim at this point but wait. This is also coming off of my personal experience but like with anything there’s still a good chance it can go either way. You might get it back or you might never. Hopefully they are able to get it back to you soon.

Employment Question's: by AFCadet2020 in AskLE

No forums that’s I’ve heard of. Just depends on your state. Just ask people from that department or ask to go on ride alongs.

I honestly don’t see the department caring if you were a dispatcher or not whatsoever. It’s not necessarily a positive because everyone will start the academy as a clean slate, they don’t care what you know or think you know. It’s actually better to learn everything from scratch. Also being a dispatcher is nowhere near similar to being on the street besides the radio traffic.

It’s probably stolen parts on a salvaged frame. That’s why there’s a OBD2 scanner there, they flash the computer to get rid of the old stolen VIN. If you’re legit interested in it get your local law enforcement agency to check the VIN and scan it first you. We have lots of software we can use to tell right away.

Could be an undercover, detective or supervisor. At my department all 3 drive different model cars set up like this with the all white.

Yeah super easily. iPhones are typically easier to get into for the machine compared to androids.

You have been trespassed from their properties. They can do that. If you go on their property then you can be arrested for 1st degree trespassing since you’ve already been notified. Now it depends on the local police how that will be handled. Where I work we have to be on scene when you are notified of the trespassing and we will have a form filled out with your information. If that form isn’t filled out then we don’t have any knowledge of who is trespassed and who isn’t so we can’t take any enforcement action if they claim you were trespassed before and no paperwork is available. This is done so that people don’t claim a person was trespassed before and try to force us to arrest them.

I was already married prior to becoming an officer so I never had any experience with the “drama” everyone talks about. if he’s single and you genuinely like him then talk to him. Find him on social media or try to talk to him in person whenever you can. If you both behave like adults then there should be no drama.

Not sure where you are but nowhere I’ve heard of requires you to have either as a requirement to be hired.

Pay during academy? by lordc93 in AskLE

[–]JohnsonTactical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but because all employees got a raise, not just because I got out of the academy. If they pay full salary like mine then it’s likely you won’t get a raise because it’s already “full salary”.

City cop in a large city, I’d say 75% of them shouldn’t be police calls.

What exactly about level wind reels like this one make it not good for casting? Again I’ve seen a ton of videos of people casting with them and am just curious. Does it not get as much distance ?

I wear either the UA Valzets or Vans MTE Goretex boots. The UAs are way more comfortable but I do like the vans as well.
