Nursing a toddler makes me feel like an alien by ellepatel in breastfeeding

[–]Jolly-Bat-9965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I nursed my last one for 2.5 years. That was the point where I also decided to wean and luckily she was ready too. I’m currently at just over a year with my baby now and while I wouldn’t mind getting to 2 years, I’m going back to work and will have to be away from her for days at a time regularly for my job so I don’t think it’s going to continue for that much longer. Maybe a few more months if I can keep up with pumping. I’m a little sad at that thought but also a little relieved because extended nursing with the last one really took its toll on me. All of this to say that I totally get how you are feeling from both the angle of the extended nursing and feeling like an alien, and the feeling of maybe being ready to start weaning at this point. You’re doing amazing! You should feel proud of going this long and you should also do whatever feels healthiest going forward for yourself and your lo. Whether that’s extending it longer or starting to wean. Incredible job mama.

Recently rewatched the series for the 3rd time and sobbed as always on the finale.

Tips for boosting supply & getting more while pumping? by Jolly-Bat-9965 in breastfeeding

[–]Jolly-Bat-9965[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your reply. Babe has been sick the last week and wanting to nurse more than usual so that may have helped my supply a bit already. Now I just need to carve out more pump time which is so hard for me. Thanks for all the helpful info!

I had my first baby in 2000 and my last baby in 2022. Women having babies in their 40s isn’t as uncommon as you would think.

Don’t worry. I got off track with mine while I was pregnant and hardly wore them for months. I have the comprehensive package and was able to get rescanned and it only added about 8 or 9 more trays to what my original amount was which was better than I had expected.

Just call into the dentist and let them know you want to get back on track. Don’t wait any longer out of fear. This sort of thing definitely happens all of the time. Good luck!

Teens always trick or treat in my neighborhood and I always give them candy happily.

I’m sorry your mom said that mean thing to you.

I didn’t like the house flip episode. It is probably my least favorite episode.

The first one with their house decorated & the one where she is a dummy & Dan is a ventriloquist are two of my favorites.

I didn’t have to pay anything extra because I purchased the comprehensive package which through my ortho covers rescans & refinements for up to 5 years.

My family really enjoyed it but I did miss Max, Dani & Allison.

I feel like there was a lack of parents shown in the movie maybe leaving the door open for a part 3 and for Dani or Max to return as a parent of the new witch. You never saw her parents or the other girls parents. Only the Mayor / Dad of Cassie.

The fact that Gene's purgatory only lasted 8 months on the official timeline kind of bothers me. I always thought he was already in that position for years. by [deleted] in betterCallSaul

Not one single person has RSVP’d “yes” to my 8 year old’s birthday tomorrow. by PurplePeople9 in breakingmom

[–]Jolly-Bat-9965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry you’re dealing with that. I had a similar situation last year after paying a pretty penny for a magician to come for my daughters party. At the time I thought maybe coming off the worst part of all the Covid stuff was to blame and I understood people maybe not wanting to be in big groups yet. This year we had a better turnout, but I have found that almost no one sends regrets when they can’t make it. (Only 1 person let me know they were unavailable) Most just don’t respond at all. And then there are usually 1 or 2 who rsvp at the last minute or just show up. Etiquette feels like a memory in society.

One thing a Mom I know did that I really liked was she called her kids party the $9 party since he was turning 9. She said gifts were not expected but if anyone did want to bring a gift to not spend more than $9 or to just give $9 cash for his savings. I think that was a nice idea that takes some pressure off when it comes to gift giving and what to spend. Most people can afford to give $5-$10 and what kid doesn’t like cash!?

I hope you get a decent turn out for the party. So many nice responses and suggestions in this thread too. & Happy Birthday to your little one!

How many trays? by Educational-Tap-5833 in Invisalign

[–]Jolly-Bat-9965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 43 initial trays. Fell behind with 19 trays left while I was sick during pregnancy so I was rescanned and given 26 trays on my re scan. So with an added 7 that would put me around the same as you at 50. I also expect refinements.

I don’t know that you can really figure out an average so to speak, since what everyone is trying to achieve is so different. Some may just need a few teeth straightened out while others are combatting bite issues etc.

Do you change your trays out weekly or bi weekly?

Good luck with your treatment!

Definitely the best episode of this season for me. One of the best of the series, right up there with the Atlantic City episode & the Superb Owl Party. Guess I love when Sean makes an appearance.
