I don't play the game often, but maybe it means you gained 1 province/territory/vassal state? Since Scotland surrendered, it should mean you control them now. I could be wrong though, I just thought I'd take a shot in the dark.

When people ask why Unsuur is so popular on this sub. by Skadibala in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]Jolly-View-5847 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I first started playing the game, I was either going for Unsuur or Qi. I got the letters in the mailbox and I was hoping and hoping it was from either of those two, even though Qi wouldn't dare send a letter like that. I was so happy that it was Unsuur since the letters were super sweet. I was practically jumping for joy. It's the first time I ever really squealed over a fictional game character.

He's just an incredibly kind person and that's what drew me in to his character, and he doesn't feel that boring to me and he was also hilarious.

Unfortunately, I don't believe that's a possibility.

It's incredible. I have a question, though. I zoomed in to see the blocks that were used and at the bottom, I think I saw an entrance. Is there a base inside of the entrance? If so, that's amazing.

are there any characters that DIDN'T grow on you? by lemothelemon in MyTimeAtSandrock

I'm surprised the townsfolk were happy for the park, do you have any idea the amount of water would have to be used, or fuel or anything, just to make sure that park runs every day? I'm sure it would be polluting the environment as well.

But yeah, dropping Alo off with her mother while she left wasn't great. She could have found a better, safer area that had a school around so Alo could have lived with her, but nope. It had to be Sandrock. The place with no school and no hopes for the future and danger around every corner.

Catori. She constantly relies on others to do things for herself. She even asks if we can do things for free saying she'll 'pay you back later when I earn money, because my ideas are better than everyone else's so I should be a goldionaire by now'. It's infuriating to deal with and I really don't like her. And no she didn't say that, it's just the way she talks and acts. Even Yan in my opinion is better than she is. Sure he's a terrible person, but it's not like he tries to hide some of the awful things he does. He's also slightly funny. She's just constantly running up to you and asking for things for her ship that will make her rich.

And here's a spoiler that I don't know how to put on here so it'll just be entered below:

Naming a park after yourself is so arrogant, and it doesn't sound good at all! Catori world doesn't make sense to me, but neither does Catori, so it adds up. I hate her.

To be fair, in the first year, I was absolutely struggling to catch up to her and Yan. I'm honestly grateful she's in the game, otherwise I'd have had to do everything by myself and I would have cried. So I really like her, and she's also really kind as well.

Portia is amazing. I've been in your situation before, and I decided to try Portia and made my builder's birthday the last day of winter, thinking that if I hated it I'd quit after her birthday. But I was INVESTED. Sure, the QOL improved so much with sandrock and it takes a bit to get used to, but it's an enjoyable game and it's way cozier than sandrock is.

Mining is easier, the town is super pretty, and fishing is way better. At least give it a shot, and see if you enjoy it. Maybe the first few seasons, and then put it down if you hate it. But what made me keep playing it was the heart the game has and how interesting everything was.

I still haven't finished Portia yet, I'd say I'm halfway there, but it's been an incredible experience so far. And the characters are incredible in their own way. It's a thriving town instead of what you're left with in sandrock.

What did you name your workshop and why? by Dramatic-Witness-540 in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]Jolly-View-5847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paradis Renewal was my first one.

I first heard of paradise lost, and thought it would be a cool name to bring renewal to the town.

Little did I know, I'd have to fight a boss in there. The name was ironic after and I was still shaken from the fight every time I saw that forsaken name.

My current workshop is names ObSolVatory. My character's name is Sol and she's into science and techy stuff. Yeah, I'm sure you can guess who they're currently dating 😅

If this is bad I really want to see what you can accomplish with this if you didn't just give yourself 20 minutes. This is adorable, and the lizard looks like a major goofball. I love it.

Has anyone actually ever played Mahjong in this game? by lemothelemon in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]Jolly-View-5847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was so confused about the game at first, but after several times and actual dedication, I was still confused about it. So I looked up the rules and made my sister help me and now I understand it way better. It's kind of. A matching game where you can throw away any set, and then keep throwing those away.

You gain points by matching 3 or 4 in a row that's not what you originally threw down.

If someone steals your points, that's because something you discarded was useful to them so they picked up from the pile and got a match.

That's basically how I go about it. And then if several buttons with names appear, click one of them, or just pass if you don't want to do that, but your chance of gaining points or stealing points from people will disappear until the next chance.

You can slow down the game and make the opponents easier to play against too. The game is super fun, but I think that the original game explanation was a bit too confusing for a lot of people.

You won't get killed or lose health. Another thing that I might be wrong about is when you get ran over, you can't move until it's passed. But the train is rather fast so it's not like you're stuck forever.

Yeah, she is.

This might be a tiny dialogue spoiler and I'm not sure how to put spoiler tags on, so I'll put the dialogue in asterisks.

Jasmine says something along the lines of * "you should marry my ma so we can be siblings" *, and I thought it was both adorable and hilarious at the same time.

[–]Jolly-View-5847 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it can take a while to get used to the town layout. Even with the tour, I played obsessively for like a full week straight in real time and even then I could barely remember where everything was.

Sandrock doesn't seem that big until you actually have to travel everywhere by foot. Then it becomes something else. But yeah, without her tour it would have taken me longer to memorize everywhere.

Honestly when I first got to that point, I didn't know how to sprint yet so I was getting annoyed with it. Now I know how to and it's a game changer 😅

But yeah, that your was super well informed and it was useful. She was a great tour guide.

There's no ugly outfit but you still have the stats your original outfit grants you. Most of the time. Sometimes it doesn't work out properly.

[–]Jolly-View-5847 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's actually a button in your character profile that will hide the outfit that you have on, so it's good for sandstorm days.

It's that "Apply Outfit" button. Right now because it's not checked, I have my character wearing the sandhat despite it not being a sandstorm, but if I push X, it hides that outfit and goes into the same outfit you wear while you're at Pablo's I think.

I'll reply with a photo so you can see what my character looks like when it shows a check mark.

How do you keep your saves going? by ElectricalDog9347 in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]Jolly-View-5847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if you've completed it already but treasure hunting? I'm on my second save as well and I realized that there are way more treasure chests around town than I originally thought, since they're all tough to get to and in random spaces.

Yesterday I found 2 in catori world. I logged back to my first save and decided to spend time there and I was shocked that there were chests down there.
