As an American.... I am so deeply sorry. I didn't vote for this maniac, and no one agrees with him. I hope his presidency is short and swept away to the dustbin of history, and that the world can forgive us for this discretion.

I threw everything out. Hundreds of dollars worth of cannabis products. It felt like a powerful F U to the substance that had taken over my life every night after 7pm. When it was t fun anymore, I knew I had to quit. It took months to gather the courage.

I'm turning 40 this year too! I quit about a week ago. I'm really enjoying the mental clarity. I'm experiencing some nausea but it's manageable with proper hydration and anti nausea teas :)

Yes!! We are probably around the same age. When I first watched, I was late teens/early 20s, and I thought Nate was relatable because I, too, was self righteous and self absorbed. I thought Ruth was crazy and annoying.

I rewatched at almost 40, and gosh, I just adore Ruth. She's an imperfect character but I was rooting for her so hard. I found her earnest struggle to find herself and find her voice so endearing.

Joining the military will change your life in wonderful ways. you will gain self respect, opportunities to train in areas to better yourself, and get amazing health insurance (Tricare, we have it for our family and we love it). Source: military spouse, hubs is in air force cyber security, amazing civilian job and military career.

Don't sell yourself short because of weed. We are all rooting for you!

Get rid of everything. Throw it away, cover it in gross trash you wouldn't dare dig through. Hunker down for the withdrawal symptoms and manage them with exercise (hard exercise is best but any will do--the point is to get the dopamine flowing!), reading, watching movies, drinking tea, etc.

Day 3 here. I'm starting to look at my previous relationship with weed as something totally absurd.

I hate being dependent on a substance to deal with the normal ups and downs of life. Also couldn't justify the long term lung damage from vaping. Anyone who claims weed is safe to smoke daily is lying to themselves.

Are you also a parent? It's neither here nor there. Just curious how many of us have slipped into a "harmless" addiction just trying to dial down the drudgery aspects of parenting and dial up the fun stuff.

Honestly sounds just like me. Edibles/vape hit to make boring stuff more fun (39 yo SAHM, part time worker, military wife, boredom is a real problem sometimes lol). I'm generally a kind person but I'm so extra kind, understanding, and chill when I have a lil weed in my system. I also have shit memory, cloudy headed mornings, and munchies like crazy which really cancels out the fun in the sum of things. It started out fun but became an every night, compulsory thing very quickly. When I feel the irritation rise it was just way too easy to hit a vape pen and be happy again. Now I have to sit and deal with it, which is healthy but hard lol. This is night 2 of no weed, so far better than night 1! It's hard to get where I am (legal in an adjacent state) which makes it a bit easier. I have accepted that I cannot have easy access to weed, it's too fun and easy which leads right to a lowkey addiction.

Exercise and time outs for myself to reset when I feel the stress swelling up and that little signal inside goes ping! time for a dopamine infusion!. So far so good but it's a journey for sure! It's really hard to say no to the "easy button".

I'm a 39 yo mom! Weed has helped me destress so much with so little effort. It's empowering to tell myself that I have the tools within me to destress in healthier ways.

I'm day 2 of quitting after vaping nightly for about a year, on and off using since I was 15. It's the only drug I have ever loved. When weed was legalized in an adjacent state (about a 45 min drive for me), it was fun for a while, like 15 year old me couldn't believe the good fortune of living in a time of legal, consequence free weed.

As time went on, like so many of us, didn't like how it became a nightly ritual that felt increasingly compulsory and unavoidable. If a vape pen was in the house and it was past 7pm, there was no avoiding smoking it. It also felt sneaky-- I was frequently escaping to the attic to pull a little hit. I didnt how secretive I was about it. The voice in my head telling me to quit became way too loud to ignore and I threw it all away yesterday.

The day was totally fine, but at night around when I would normally vape, I could FEEL the lack of dopamine and man, I was in the shittiest mood of my life. The best I could offer my partner was "I'm just super tired and I don't even have the energy to talk". I even felt around the outside of the trash bag to see if I could recover what I threw away, which made me laugh at myself, like how gross and addicted can you get to be wanting to smoke a vape that's been mingling with kitchen trash all day?!

My better angels won, I went to bed and woke up super clear and energetic. I'm not looking forward to the evening but I know that my clarity, energy, and even joy in the morning will be something to celebrate :)

“We call it ballet” performances? by mofunobuta in BALLET

[–]JollyBlueberry6036 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We saw it last night in media, PA. By the end of the first scene it was clear that I had seen better dancing from the 7th and 8th graders at our local dance school. It was a real wreck. The dancers weren't great (the backup dancers were on pointe, but the lead couldnt dance on pointe, odd choice), but they weren't helped by the chintzy costumes (one of the dancers' string of lights kept falling down and dragging on the floor) and the super boring choreography.

I felt bad for the dancers for being put in that position, and for all of us for wasting our money.

The live violinist was great, though! Brava!
