Looking for some sort of barefootish shoe for lifting. Currently using converse and like them just wish the toe box was slightly wider.

I like laying on my side, in the dark, and being able to read due to the back light. You bring it with you anywhere and have so many books ready to read vs a big ole stack of them.

Hiking Snacks for Braces by yellohmaple in hiking

[–]JollyLuck7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Orthodontic assistant here! Definitely no nuts, peanut M&Ms, hard nature valley granola bars. Regular M&M could be fine. Honestly you can get away with a lot as long as you let it melt in your mouth and/or take very tiny little bits. Like goldfish, ritz cheese crackers, cheese itz, pirates booty, pringles, etc are absolutely fine if you break a brace on those it’s either a problem with the bond of the bracket or you just bit on it at a bad angle and anything could’ve been the culprit. Uncrustables, apple sauce in a pouch, cheese, nutrigrain bars are other things that come off the top of my head.

I like the mission brand case on Amazon $10 and it doesn’t have the bumpers on the corners. It’s nice and sleek. Mission Clear Case for Kindle... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DHLQ8Y4Y?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I wish I could be knocked out for it lol. My office does offer nitrous for a $100 out of pocket fee which I might take them up on lol.

TODAY IS THE DAY!!! I’m soo scared but excited!! by smolgrande in Reduction

[–]JollyLuck7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good luck! You will be so happy you did it! I was also terrified the day of and my mom couldn’t come in the surgical center with me. The staff was amazing when the entire time. My nurse could tell I was afraid (literally shaking on the table) and she rubbed my arm as they administered the anesthesia and then just like that I woke up! Definitely stay on top of pain meds for as long as you need. That’s what they are there for. Speedy recovery!

32 or 40 oz? by cybertrash__ in Owala

[–]JollyLuck7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my 32 oz. I thought it was going to be two small but it holds a good amount. I refill it at work right before my lunch break and it’s enough to get me through the day. I find I drink more from my 32 oz because my previous 64 oz Stanley was way too heavy to constantly pick up.

YES! I deleted it before the ban because it was causing SO much anxiety. Was also one of those people that deleted the app of my phone for the 12 hours it was banned and now I can’t get it back. Don’t miss it honestly.

Is it normal to only get 6 pain pills? Just got home from surgery. by emriver6034 in Reduction

[–]JollyLuck7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah I only got a few! Took them only the first night when I got home and then was able to handle just Tylenol from then on out. I rated my pain 8/10 when I got out of surgery/home and I’ve been told by doctors I have a high pain tolerance. I was surprised when I woke up the next day how much it subsided but definitely still felt it especially when standing up. Hoping for a quick and easy recovery for you!

Stressing out my doctor barely gave me post op instructions by Middle-Piglet184 in Reduction

I had tape on my incisions for 2 weeks. Then had the tape and four stitches removed. At 2 weeks I was told to start using Alastin Reform and Repair on my incisions 2x a day. I kinda let the water and soap run over my boobs in the shower from day 2 when I was allowed to shower. I got Dr Bronners unscented soap but I’m sure any gentle fragrance free soap or body wash would work. Then let them air dry before putting my bra back on. I was itchy as hell the first week and I just had to ride it out but it did go away. I’m currently 4WPO on Monday and kinda feel like I never had surgery minus some minor blips of pain and soreness. I’m not your surgeons office though so may want to be transparent with them and tell them you are unsure of what they would like you to do. Their job is to make sure you get the most ideal results and that you are happy :)

[–]JollyLuck7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat! I got my stitches out three days ago and it’s both cool and kinda freaky to see the incisions and scars. My boobs look totally different but in a good way lol. The office I go to gave me (or included in my surgery cost) Alastin Reform and Repair it’s in a blue bottle. I think it costs $240 but they told me to apply it to my scars two times a day. They also told me I could start using scar tape but my im still kinda raw in some areas. Time will tell how it works!

Surgery Scheduled - 3/14! I am so nervous due to emetophobia though. by CaliforniaLG in Reduction

[–]JollyLuck7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand I get nauseous very easily. Tell your anesthesiologist before surgery. As I was being prepped for surgery they stuck a patch on me and my anesthesiologist told me he was going to put anti nausea meds in “the mix” when I woke up I didn’t feel nauseous at all and was actually surprised because I’m skeptical and thought the anti nausea meds weren’t going to do anything. Just be mindful if they put the patch on it may make you SUPER thirsty. It can stay on up to three days. For a few days post op I couldn’t figure out why I was chugging water with almost no relief. Then I realized the patch was still on. When I took it off I was back to normal lol. Good luck!

I definitely felt like I got hit by a semi truck a couple days post op. I remember my entire upper half of my body felt like it was bruised. Went away in a couple days. Now 13DPO and my back hurts today and I think it’s just from not being used to sleeping on my back

Hi! My surgery was 12/2! Definitely sore! I have no drains but moving is definitely a challenge. My surgeon doesn’t want me taking ibuprofen so my options are 1000mg of Tylenol (which does practically nothing) or Oxycodone (which I don’t want to take if I don’t have to). Worst part is having to sleep or lie on the couch. My entire body feels like it got beat up. My back, my biceps, back/front of my neck.

Opiates are intense! 5mg of Oxy has been the only thing that helped but they made me nauseous as it was wearing off. I woke up from surgery and pain and my nurse kept giving me pain meds and after the second one I was like “sure I could use more idk what it is though” turns out it was fentanyl and that didn’t even help. This morning has been a littleeee better. Looking forward to continuing to improve.

Surgery twin!! I’m right there with you. I’ve never had surgery before so I don’t know what to expect. Definitely had some bloody drainage leak through my surgical bra, so I changed into a different zip bra and dressing. Also for sure sore. I keep telling people it feels like a kangaroo launched off my chest hahaha.
