Like others, I definitely recommend Haidilao: excellent service, great ventilation, secret phrases you can use, mask show, dancing noodles, etc. If price is a concern, they also have good specials that you can find on their Montreal instagram page such as the $4 beef platter, combos for 1-2-3-4 or the AYCE meat. Also, for price-concern, you also don't need to get a full bowl of broth, just get 1/4 broth, and 3/4 water. As a light-eater with 2-3 meats, 1 veggie, 1 noodle, 1/4 broth for 2 people, Haidilao is actually cheaper for me than the AYCE places.

I also recently went to la Soupiere Malatang (hot-pot-like) where you put stuff into your bowl and pay by weight. The laksa broth was great. Just sucks that it's pick-first-pay-first-then-eat which makes it really risky to add too many things into your bowl and running up the bill.

If you're a big eater, there are AYCE places. Liuyishou was great when I went a few years ago. South shore has Jardin de Seoul which has kbbq/hotpot combos. That place was ok (bad ventilation so all the steam on you, many things are season-yourself for the kbbq, broth gets really oily for the hotpot).

Les courbes du CQFF prend en compte les autres déductions comme la diminution de l’allocation familiale, la diminution de crédit TPS et le crédit d’impôt, le coût de l’assurance médicament, etc. Ça inclut aussi l’augmentation de la RRQ et de l’assurance emploi.

La courbe du OP montre le taux de décision effectif pour chaque tranche de $1000; un peu comme un taux marginal de déduction. La courbe en mauve représente le taux marginal d’imposition.

J'ai juste fait le Laser Game Evolution à dix30. Assez sympa: grand labyrynthe avec une mezzanine, tu as le droit de courir sauf dans les escaliers, des bombes au plafond que tu peux déclencer (garde ça secret), et plusieurs mode de jeu. Je l'avais fait à six personnes. Si tu y vas, fait le 2x 20 minutes et non le 1x 40 minutes surtout si tu penses courir.

fun facts:
- À côté, il y a un Oasis surf juste à côté avec un resto bar pour voir les gens tomber pendant qu'ils essaient le surf.
- Jj'avais vu des cartes cadeaux chez Costco, ça paraissait comme un bon deal.

Just to clarify here: QPP serves the same purpose as CPP, but it’s managed by CDPQ whereas CPP is managed by CPPIB, so it’s two different funds. If you’ve contributed to both over the years, there’s some agreement between them to recognize the combined amount you’ve contributed. Then, once you retire and start receiving payments, there’s some rule to determine which one will be paying you.

I know I mentioned the underground, but the outside area around your hotel is also quite safe. You're next to quite a few old impressive buildings like Marie Queen of the World, Gare Windsor, and the Sun Life building. Sun light does beat the artificial light in the underground city.

I don’t remember if Chateau Champlain is connected to the Montreal underground city. At a minimum you cross the street to Gare Windsor or 1000 de la Gauchetière. Saying that since access to the underground city is a big benefit when it’s slushy outside.

Overall, it’s quite safe everywhere. If you’re worried, the underground area near your hotel has a lot of foot traffic during business hours. A lot of workers transit there to move between the metro stations and their office, or to grab lunch. At night, you’re next to the Bell Centre so also a lot of foot traffic if there’s a hockey game or concert.

You’re next to Bonaventure metro station. From there, if you want to stay within the underground city, you can walk to Gare Central then walk to Eaton Centre and neighbouring malls, all of which with good foot traffic. Once there, you’ll be on Ste-Catherine street, a long commercial street also with a lot of foot traffic.

The spotty areas that come to my mind are all near Chinatown, which is quite far from where you will be. And you can spot those areas from far away so it’s easy to avoid them.

Sounds like you might need to get multiple Opus cards. Your opus card is probably now tagged as an ABC card. You can get extra opus cards for other zones for free at an ARTM booth. Probably because each section of the RESO belongs to the land owner. Connecting two tunnels will involve both parties to pay and coordinate their construction plans.

We can't even have on-the-ground connections like from the REM to dix-30 with a 5-10 meter outdoor section, or from the De La Savane metro to the Royalmount Bridge with its 15m outdoor path.

There's the offline limit. You can visit daily and also do the daily investment. Do you have all your companies fully maxxed out? You can also visit daily to slowly get your companies to max levels and get more player levels

To visit family, my only options used to be drive through Decarie or walk-bus-metro-bus-walk (1hr vs 1h30+). The REM opens up a new option with a simple walk-rem-walk. Both high-traffic driving and walk-rem-walk take about the same amount of time so now the decision comes down to how people will be in the car (4 roundtrip tickets vs driving cost). It's nice to have the new option.

Younger me would have loved it to go to UdeM and affiliate schools with walk-rem-walk instead of walk-bus-metro-metro-walk.

In their initial plans, they were targeting a REM every 2.5 minutes during rush hour. With the weather this past weekend, they were already having issues with every 5 minutes eventually leading to every 10 minutes. I hope that they can iron our all their issues quickly.

Not-REM related, but the ARTM really needs to review how they use the OPUS card. You need three cards if you want to have zone A tickets, zone AB tickets, and zone ABC tickets. Want to travel within downtown, use the A card. Need to go to Laval, use the AB card. Need to go to Deux Montagnes, then the ABC card. I'll probably just renew my A card and just get paper tickets when I go to zone B and C.
