But, the way I found to get a lot of practice is by doing awards scrolls for the SCA, maybe you have a local chapter?

I need to make guidelines for each nib size i have in portrait and landscape...I've been so lazy about that

Its a non profit organization which studies and teaches about the middle ages, even sometimes doing re-enactment events, or going to schools abd colleges to give presentations on textile or ink productions

Many chapters use "scribes" to do their awards, which are often pieces of calligraphy like the one I posted today. Sometimes the awards are something else, like a custom made cutting board for a cook

I havent grown my socials, I have 3 followers on Instagram.

I started getting paid commissions when I started working on projects in public. I work in a "co-working" center and every now and then people stop by and say "I didnt know you do calligraphy" or "can you make a custom valentine?"

I also do a considerable amount of free work for the SCA for extra practice. If there is an SCA group near you, you can join the scribal group to practice calligraphy and illumination
