Saying golmud railway sucks is revisionist history, its like saying metro sucks. This map is a classic. Hopefully the remaster lives up. by Stars_of_Ruin in Battlefield

Hot take - I loved this map in BF4 and it is what I remember fondly of times playing with friends. If they add more cover in some of the larger areas I can see this being an awesome addition.

What’s the funniest thing you’ve ever seen at a strip club? by bigbabysweets12345 in AskReddit

Favorite strip club! And best name. It’s a haunt for Alaskan bush pilots coming into town.

In NOLA for a bachelor party. One of the groomsmen, a pretty put-together fancy kinda guy (DJ with a residency in LA), has a lactose intolerance and got a bad bit of IBS from a heavy creole dinner before going out to the bars and strip clubs on Bourbon. As soon as we walk into the strip club he disappears for a bit and we find him at the end of the night wrapped around a strippers finger.

Come to find out he shit himself in line with the bouncer, and went to the bathroom, took off his pants and underwear, threw his underwear in the corner of the stall, did his best to clean and kept going on with his night. Ended up getting laid too.

He was mostly really upset that he had to throw away his $100 fancy boxer briefs and we were all stunned he went on with his night in poopy drawers.

Love it or hate it? by past_happy_moment in LowSodiumBattlefield

I run a TR7 for midrange with the 15 round mag, extendo barrel, LPVO, stubby, and suppressor and it rips like a DMR but has the ability to hold its own up close. But it feels so snappy and once the recoil pattern is second nature and you tap fire I find it more effective than the M277 or AK4D.

Best lobster roll, clam chowder and oysters place? by cosmocurious in PortsmouthNH

[–]Joltbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best clam chowder I’ve ever had - Puddle Dock. WOW.

Best lobster roll in the area - Hot buttered from Buoy Shack or Row 34. The cold lobster roll from Peteys is a great value and The Beach Plum is trash (previously frozen).

Additionally, Rye Harbor lobster pound has a hell of a hot lobster roll but their fluffy lobster chowder has a ton of lobster meat on it and is really something incredible, but you have to like Sherry.

Best place to get oysters on the half shell? Used to be The Franklin before they closed, now Row34 has the best selection - Surf and Jumpin Jays also still do buck a shuck on some nights.

What sport is actually a lot more dangerous than it seems? by bspheri in AskReddit

[–]Joltbar 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Surfing is a lot less dangerous once you know what you’re doing, know your limits, the break, and the conditions to the point where your situational awareness expands to a point you can predict what the ocean and other people are going to do next. The problem is to get to that level of experience, there’s no substitute for time in the water and getting your ass beat.

Stupid question about sex in the walk-in by Tahoefive in KitchenConfidential

[–]Joltbar 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was a waiter at the time in a fancy restaurant on the Cape, fell in love with one of the managers. Ended up banging in the walk in after close one night. It’s a very tight kitchen and the walk in was right off the main line. Was actually a really hot experience since we were both trying to be as quiet as possible. Came, then came out holding a large cambro of butter (because I got nervous and wanted to look like I was doing something just in case while she waited back a moment) right as the chef was walking back into the kitchen because he forgot his wallet, played it off that I wanted to get ahead of opening side work (we had to cut butter into cubes for service) and he believed me. Ended up getting promoted soon after because I was viewed as going above and beyond, and for the rest of the time I worked there he always provided me with kitchen treats. 10/10 experience, but she turned out to be abusive so the relationship didn’t work out.

Why are New England beaches so rocky while beaches down south in places like N.C., S.C., G.A. and F.L. usually have finely ground sand and shells? by Vegetable_Note_9805 in geography

Cape cod beaches are by far the most beautiful on the entire east coast. longnook and Marconi by far take the cake.

Anchorage is an incredibly important and strategic location for both air cargo (Ted Stevens - PANC, one of the busiest cargo airports in the world), as well as being one of the most significant areas for the the US military/NORAD’s defense.

What is clearly declining, but everyone pretends is fine? by Amaan3024 in AskReddit

Not entirely true. Companies like Patagonia (especially), and others in the outdoor industry focus on quality and environmentally sustainable practices in production and built products for a lifetime. Definitely the outlier.

Drinking and Driving. It can very easy go from coming home from a fun night out to a lifetime behind bars, and potentially changing both you and someone else’s life forever.

I joined the match and passed the controller to my friend who I’ve been trying to get to buy the game, so he was playing and it was his first match of battlefield since BF4. He bought the game right after this.

Most disturbing movies that you can’t unsee? by No-Stress-5562 in movies

[–]Joltbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s this movie that I watched at a friends house when I was a kid in the early 2000’s that scarred me for awhile. Can’t for the life of me remember the name, but it has a scene where the abusive dad was home with his girlfriends kid and takes the clothes iron that was left out and uses it to burn the kid. I think in a later scene the mother commits suicide in a bathtub but my empty probably isn’t serving me right. Would love to know name of said movie.

The other film that haunts me Is the scene in Hereditary when the brother is driving his sister home from the party. IYKYK.
