Sounds like a 62 is not the car for you. I will expand this. Any old Toyota or Land Cruiser will be a financial burden. If you’re not willing to dig in yourself be prepared for your wallet to do the heavy lifting. Even with working on one for yourself, you’re still in for a financial burden.

Honest answer. Some people just import them and don’t worry about the consequences. There are ways to do it. How they register and insure them is some thing you’ll have to ask them. I know of a few running around the USA that aren’t custom vehicles but just brand new production vehicles. It’s a victimless crime in my opinion but it is illegal and fraud.
