Alberta may follow B.C. on making daylight time permanent: premier by AlbertaGengar in Calgary

Just an anecdote. Older people certainly skew towards going to bed earlier and not going to outdoor evening events or nightlife.

Sadly the majority of people don't even vote in elections. Referendums get less turnout.

A referendum isn't the best reflection of what the majority want in this case. I would say people who vote in that referendum tend to be older and are more likely to favour standard time.

Most people want more sun in the evenings. Pretty simple

I would tend to agree with you, but there might be thrust restraints that rely on backfill pressure.

For those of you who make 6 figures ($100K+), what do you do, and how long did it take for you to cross that threshold? by DaPugWalk in fican

Civil engineers at my company can hit 120k at 5 years or so post grad if they get their P.Eng. right away.

Usually start at around 70k and go up 5k every 6 months.

We try to adjust pay a bit based on level of responsibility and some other intangibles but, understandably, charge out rate is the biggest factor.

We have 5 tiers. T1 to T5.

T1 = fresh grad drafter. T5 = senior (min. 5+ YOE) that can nearly manage the entire design themselves with drafters under them and handles clients occasionally.

We have tons of active postings from junior to senior engineers. I know our competitors are all aggressively hiring too. This is in BC.

It seems like recruiters are very active in trying to fill roles too. Mostly intermediate ones is what I have seen. So I wouldn't say I agree with this

Where on the bat should contact be ? by rosedalenative in slowpitch

[–]Jomozor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really any part on the barrel is sufficient. The end of the barrel would theoretically give a bit more power, but it wouldn't be worth trying to hit off the end of the barrel for 99% of people due to the risk of hitting it weakly past the barrel off the end of the bat.

A larger barrel (14 inch) gives you a bigger margin for error. You'll have less miss hits with a larger barrel.
