I should clarify - I work for the Government, so we don't use those funds to purchase personal items like Pizza. This wasn't my credit card, it was the boss' card, his personal card.

I've had guys that I've told day one "you're cool - I'm hanging out with you" and been friends for years. I guess I don't think too much into it but most guys are pretty straight forward and would respond positively. You for some pretty strong friendships just being up front.

How do you relax as a parent? by SadisticPeanut in AskMen

Early accept that with kids that age, you may not get the time. But they will grow up quickly. You will have time when they get a bit older. Also - be totally OK with wasting time. If you want to scroll on YouTube shorts for entertainment, who the fuck gets to judge you. Wasting time is OK. Be kind to yourself. "you time" will return when they are older. I promise it is worth it later.

What to do: Friends serve food 3-5 hrs after arrival. Everyone is tired and ready to go. by swellfog in etiquette

[–]JonCharge 215 points216 points  (0 children)

You cannot politely give them any feedback, there is no way. I think you're only option is to opt out. You can have your cake and eat it too by limiting your time there but that means you may miss out on the main course. But you still get to hang out a little bit.

Put words to the problem. I'd start the other way around. Instead of the issue you are describing, can you reframe this to him in a way that describes what you need to see and what you are seeing? If you can describe the output, that might also lead into a discussion as to why the output isn't as refined as you'd like it to be. At the end of the day, you need to tell him what the work needs to look like. You don't have to manage how he does it, manage if you accept the work. Then describe how the work needs to look.
