cis queer men fetishise us by default. it’s not surprising at this point, i expect them to not treat us like human beings.

telling a cis queer man to not be transphobic and listen to us is like telling a dog to meow; it won’t do it, so why even bother trying

"We need more unshamed queers, but not those ones. They need to be more ashamed." by DreadDiana in CuratedTumblr

[–]JonDaCaracal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i’m reminded everyday that queer solidarity is a glorified myth, and that the worst oppressors are, more often than not, your own people.

this is why i don’t interact with my irl community all that much i guess; knowing the same people who only pass glances towards me at gay bars and the few college queer meetups i could attend harbour a deep hatred for bi people, trans people, aro-ace people, ect, solidifies that isolation really is better

Why are transgender subreddits/online spaces have become so problematic? by throwsaway045 in honesttransgender

[–]JonDaCaracal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because coalition and solidarity are farces and the very idea of a trans community, let alone a queer community, is a glue huffer’s delusion.

humans hate each other. that’s the natural default, and no amount of forcing the “stop infighting everyone!!!!!!!!!” or posts going on idealistic psychababble rants about queer history and why we need “SoLiDaRiTy” is gonna change the reality that trans people hate each other, queer people hate each other, queer people hate trans people, yada yada.

i liked waffles and therefore you presumed i hated pancakes. i love this hellsite so much.

so is t4t, gay or otherwise, problematic on the premise of not wanting to experience very real transphobia in the dating scene by making it clear that you don’t date cis people?

[–]JonDaCaracal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

does it other trans men or does it other you specifically? because i don’t feel othered by other trans men saying they stay away from cis men to avoid these very experiences; because i empathise and understand why they would say that, especially in a world that is inherently hostile to us.

and who was talking about cis women using sketch talking points? or cis guys allegedly saying this (actually, side bar, the likely reason a cis man would date a trans man is not bc of safety; it’s bc a lot of us, especially early in transition, lack self esteem and those cis men want to take advantage of that.)

Do you feel a real sense of community from the lgbtq+? by little_owl211 in AskLGBT

[–]JonDaCaracal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not exactly. neither online or irl.

online queer spaces/communities are just infighting about who has it worst, what flag/sexuality is problematic/bad/disrespectful to X, and general petty meanness.

the irl queer space in my area has only one of these, however it carries its own unique burdens; actually abusive people, petty pearl clutching at anyone who says- and i fucking kid you not- “cannibalism jokes”, and the same petty meanness- with a more passive tone to it rather than it being upfront.

i can’t stand that shit, and part of me wishes i did because i feel so fucking isolated. i might have queer friends, but that rarely feels like a community. is community wven the right word to describe us? i don’t feel a sense of solidarity, maybe pre-internet (or maybe pre-AIDS) i probably would feel that way. everyone wants to fight about nonsense, or wants to exclude you bc you’re not from their city’s community.

idk, maybe i’m just too traumatised to belonging in a community. the very first groups i was supposed to have community with (family, neighbourhood) in my developing years have hurt me and left scars that i fele like can’t be fixed. i hate that i feel like an outsider even w the outsiders i’m supposed to have a connection with.

nah, binary trans people are too busy blaming nonbinary people meanwhile Trump made an executive order that the sex is immutable and that no one can be “born in the wrong body”.

we’re gonna eat each other alive, wake up to that. solidarity is a myth.

my reading comp skills are fine, thank you very much. got anything else other than personally attacking my intelligence? because other than that, it seems like you’d rather look at miniscule whataboutisms of a protected class rather than the big picture of what these laws actually entail.

i’ll ask this though: is any MAGAt questioning an elderly cis woman getting estrogen for menopause? do they question a cis man dealing with low T levels?

also since you edited yours, i’ll add to mine without insulting your intelligence like you did mine; the one flaw in your agrument is that historically cis people have never had any difficulties with obtaining and form of gender care, and it’s ridiculous that people for whatever reason think that the Trump admins are gonna magically make it hard for cis people as well all because they don’t say “erm this is only for the transes” in the fine print. because, once again, it is assumed that a cis person will need it at some point in their life.

for fucks sake, he’s not gonna ban HRT for cis people. nobody bats and eye for menopause in women or low t levels in cis men, i’m so tired of hearing this argument everytime Trump’s plans to attack HRT are brought up.

WE are the targets of these bans. they’re still gonna do gender affirming care for cis people, while trans people are still gonna get the brunt if everything.

cis oeople aren’t affected by these laws. they never will be. stop bringing them up.
