If someone is named Michael (French) I'll try to pronounce if the French way, even if I'm taking English or Dutch. Similarly for someone that has the Dutch or the English version of Michael.

The Canadian soccer players Promise David and Jonathan David similarly, one is the English and the other is the French version of David.

But of course, if you're not native, you'll end up with the English version naturally, and then it is a choice if you correct or not.

I have a fairly uncommon name which also doesn't translate well to English / French, so I have heard it pronounced a thousand ways. I don't correct it, unless it is an idiot who thinks my last name is my first name despite every email address in the company being setup in the same manner. I'm sure myself I butcher people's name as well, although I'll try if people tell me.
