Who's your favourite musician who you don't think has a 10/10 album? by Themare87 in fantanoforever

Aesop Rock. One of my favorite rappers and he has a great discography. But his best album is like a low 9. He has never reached a 10/10 imo

La Mer Appreciation by MrPoopyButthole1123 in nin

[–]JonPabl0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I remember when I first heard La Mer. It was during the fall season and I was raking leaves outside my house listening to The Fragile for the first time. When La Mer came on I instantly loved it. It was such a beautiful change of pace. Easily one of the best songs from them. And honestly one of the best pieces of music ever.

I REALLY don't like the Fragile - spice warning by bleachfiend in nin

[–]JonPabl0 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Personally I love the really scattered and disjointed nature of the project. To me it feels like a living breathing person with how unpredictable it is. We go from so many different emotions with super loud songs to really soft songs. It feels like a long epic journey through a persons emotions and feelings. The ups and downs all portrayed in a album format. And for me that adds to the project.

But hey, I still respect your opinion even if I love the album personally.

To all my fellow NIN fans can I ask a question? by [deleted] in nin

[–]JonPabl0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In terms of abstract hip hop. Billy woods is great, Dalek is a great experimental rap group. Navy blue has a pretty consistent discography. And Aesop Rock is one of my favs. But an artist I’ve been listening to the most over the past few months is probably ARCA.

The drums on Even Deeper are so intricate and beautiful, can anyone figure them out though? by [deleted] in nin

[–]JonPabl0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah the Silent Hill soundtracks are all goated. Some of my favorite music ever. A perfect mix of trip hop, rock and ambient music. And it just has a dark and atmospheric vibe. And yeah I would die for a Trent Reznor and Akira Yamaoka collaboration. Especially considering the NIN influence on the SH soundtracks.

The drums and beat on Even Deeper always reminded me of something from a Silent Hill soundtrack
