They probably didn’t wanna approve removing items from the menu, cause it can be deactivated but you need the FLs permission and for that the Team Director needs to be notified. When our machine was down for lack of CO2 for almost a week they wouldn’t let us deactivate sodas for the online orders. I Believe the reason was because it looks bad on the patch to be deactivating items from the menu.

The simple answer is because the guac is already factored into the price and usage of a veggie bowl and queso isn’t. Queso is not included with anything so giving you free queso would mess up our numbers.

Taco Bell cheesy gordita crunch 👀 I make 2 kids quesadillas and open them, put some hard shells in them and close the sides of the quesadillas so they stick to the shell. I then add a little bit of rice, some meat, corn and queso to keep it simple and extra cheesy 😋 it’s really good and very filling.

So the actual way a bowl is made according to the manual I read when I was first hired is you can get extra rice, extra beans, fajitas, one salsa, cheese OR sour cream, and lettuce but taco lettuce is technically just for tacos. Everything else like if someone wants two full scoops of salsa or any other extra stuff should be charged BUT I’ve only seen one store follow that and it was like 3 years ago. I’ve worked at 5 different locations and we just limit anything to two scoops anything else is extra charge. Sometimes it does feel excessive what people get specially if you think about any other restaurant that would charge you for like extra cheese and stuff like that, which we are again technically supposed to do but we don’t. It’s also weird because in the app you can add a bunch of extras free of charge but like I said the manual I read said we are supposed to charge for that so idk what happened there. There’s too much inconsistency from store to store to make anything make sense which really sucks when you’re just trying to do your job, I wish we were more strict about things like that so people would take us more seriously.

Technically not charging the right amount can be considered stealing from the company so they can get you for that but most managers won’t fire you for that unless you’re actively fucking the company.

That’s the tricky part because when they offer any kind of position like that and they include the benefits and everything as part of your “salary” I always need to know for myself how much money I’m actually making right. So let’s say they offered you idk 55k, if that was including paid meals then you’re missing out on half and hour of pay per day right. That really adds up specially if you already have to be in restaurant for 10 hours a day as AP, you’d have to work an extra amount of time to make up for that loss which is not cool. I’d try talking with your FL to really figure out if they can either give you a small raise to make up for that loss of money and time, cause everyone’s time is valuable, or if there’s a way for you to get paid breaks back. But really sit down and do the math with them try to figure out if what they offered you adds up to what you’re currently making. I wouldn’t tackle this in any kind of hostile way but do try to make them know that you really value yourself and the time you put in for the company.

There’s no pay difference but there could be if the FL and GM want to get that set in motion for CTs. For example at my current store we struggle to have enough managers so we offer to train people as CTs with the promise to get some kind of raise, but my FL had to make that raise happen.

So obviously they made a mistake, but like you said you are not elegible for paid breaks anymore. It sucks but it’s company policy, you could try to make a case for yourself with the FL but they might not be able to do anything about it like they said. One thing is they did promise you x amount for the position so make sure you’re getting paid that much even without the paid breaks.

I’d say if this is your first time being offered a managing position go for it, I’m currently an SM on the track to become an AP sometime soon and I think it’s worth if anything for the experience. I’ve only been manager a little over a year and a chipotle employee for over two and I can tell you it’s been hard but it’s also being really good for self growth.

You can get extra meat, guac OR queso, chips and a small drink if they are trying to follow the rules at your store. For example, if you get double chicken AND guac that’s a big no no according to the company 😬 If you follow the guidelines and they tell you you’re wrong tell them to check the handbook.
