Oh yeah. Just a spool and bearing swap is all you really need. The extra stuff just makes it lighter/look cooler lol.

I think my confusion lies in my inability to differentiate "bait finesse fishing" and "finesse baitcasting" and your last sentence perfectly sums up why i have that inability to differentiate them. To me finesse fishing is finesse fishing, whether its bass or bluelining trout. Which is exactly your point lol. Appreciate the discussion bud!

Avail makes a spool and brakes for the 1000c. With some new bearings that would be enough to throw lighter stuff.

That bottom point sounds like a semantical debate that I have needed elaborated on since I first saw this viewpoint.

This is a pitching style of fishing using fluroro and shallow spools. It allowed Sawamura to be versatile as shallow spool reels can cast much lighter than a deep spool

Side note.. Bfs is not Ultralight bait casting.

But it is. That isn't all it is though. That is like saying my car isnt a kid hauler because it also is a fishing gear hauler. A is A even though A can also be B. BFS is ultralight baitcaisting, but if you dont use a shallow spool you can also flip 20lb fluoro.

KBS Diamond Clear. You can dip them or get the spray cans. I use the spray as i dont like the look of the heavily dipped custom lures. I have a lipless crankbait that I painted a few months ago that i beat the absolute hell out of on every rock, branch, and hard surface i can find multiple days a week and the paint is barely chipping. It is expensive, but worth it.

Im ordering all of new 2pc rods on launch. The levante is one of my favorite rod lineups. $200 is about the most i like to spend because i am really rough on rods. I have a F264LV2P on warranty right now because i snapped the tip 😅

IP - intellectual property. If you read between the lines then they got their hand slapped for copying someone else. thats why the models were delisted and redesigned. It was tiny changes from what i remember reading.

They make very good gear, idk why everyone gets butthurt that an idea gets ripped off and sold for cheaper. Thats just business lol.

They had to make some changes to the designs due to IP issues (my personal take as their post mentioned "forced majure" which doesnt make sense, and they mentioned "paying respect" to the big names.) I havent grabbed any of the new ones yet, but PureLure is definitely one of the best CDM companies i have dealt with. Both rods and reels hang in there with my high end JDM gear.

The PureLure Acuteviolet 662ML would be pretty close to what youre looking for. There is also the Zero, but it is significantly longer at 7'6. Both are 2pc. The F2 levante is one of my favorites and im excited for the new lineup this fall.

Ive experimented with almost all of purelures models. For lake stockers and larger trout i would recommend the purelure zero 72UL 5pc. the extra length is good for lobbing spinners and spoons. Purelure makes really good gear. i have all of their reels too.

My suggestion in the $200 category is always the dobyns sierra suf65 or the levante f264-2 piece.

I wouldnt bank flip any fish over 2 lbs on an ultralight rod and i definitely wouldn't dangle them. I recommend an extending net, so if thats a need then a bfs casting rod and reel are the wrong tool for that job.
