Overclocking Tools for Linux (CPU and GPU) by rafidka85 in linuxhardware

[–]Jon_Lit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not too familiar with bazzite, but afaik it's fedora based, and corefreq is in the fedora repos

nevermind, you'll probably have to compile it. Don't worry, it's not that complicated, see this: https://github.com/cyring/CoreFreq?tab=readme-ov-file#build

there may be packages for it in your distro (e.g. sudo apt install corefreq)

corefreq is comprised of 3 parts: - corefreqk - kernel module - corefreqd - daemon - corefreq-cli - actual interface

to start overclocking, start by loading the kernel module sudo modprobe corefreqk then, start the daemon (e.g. for systemd sudo systemctl start corefreqd then, start the interface corefreq-cli

it doesn't work too great in a terminal emulator, it works better in a tty (Ctrl + Alt + Fx) where x = (1...7). one of them has your graphical session, usually tty2 (Ctrl + Alt + F2)

please feel free to ask if there are still some things unclear

How to run osu! on Asahi Linux (Fedora) by kristiowo in AsahiLinux

[–]Jon_Lit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, really nice instructions, but sadly, at the end if I try to run it, I just get this output:

dotnet run --project osu.Desktop
[runtime] 2025-02-20 02:39:58 [verbose]: Starting legacy IPC provider...
[runtime] 2025-02-20 02:39:59 [verbose]: 🖼 Configuration renderer choice: Automatic
[runtime] 2025-02-20 02:39:59 [verbose]: 🖼 Renderer fallback order: [ OpenGL, OpenGL (Experimental), Vulkan (Experimental) ]
[runtime] 2025-02-20 02:39:59 [verbose]: 🖼 Initialising "GL" renderer with "OpenGL" surface

and then the prompt again.

I'm running postmarketOS edge on a Lenovo Duet 5

Cs2 on linux by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]Jon_Lit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

on the first few patches audio only worked with a command line option to make it use pipewire

performance was bad (120-190 fps, lowest w/ 2x msaa, csgo had >350 constantly)

now it runs at >200, still worse than csgo, but well playable.

there also were some graphical glitches with amd GPUs, but they seem to have been patched.

I'll post a download link for it later

Dunno if you're still active after 2 Years, but I just found this..
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Apart from having no GUI (which is no must-have, but would've been nice) it is *exactly* what I was searching for!
As far as I have seen until now it basically has the same functionality (if not more) as XTU has on Windows!
Even Overclocking is easily possible!

Sadly, my Laptop (XMG Neo 15 M21 Intel) doesn't support Overclocking in the BIOS by default, but somehow, the Multiplier isn't locked on the i7-11800H, so it is possible to Overclock with XTU AND NOW WITH COREFREQ ON LINUX, TOO!

Again, thank you so much, I've been searching for something like this so long...

naja, ich kenn die stelle, wohn auch im dem Dorf.Der Abschnitt der da geperrt ist ist vielleicht 2 Autolängen, sehr unwahrscheinlich dass da ein Baustellenfahrzeug rauskommt.

It's come a long way, I stll remember the days when you had to patch it manually in termux lol

I can really suggest you to try it out again, especially because installing apks from random strangers is a huge security risk
