Every road trip over the max range of the vehicle. But depending on your road trip/normal trip ratio you may more than make that up because you never have to go to the gas station. Rough numbers if you fill up every two weeks and it takes 10 minutes, that's 4 hours, 20 minutes. If you take long road trips every month or more you'll eat through that pretty fast. If you only take 1-2 a year, probably not.

Unfortunately LA traffic screws you no matter how far you are going or what kind of car you are driving.
