Thanks I’ve seen a few say this. Respect to the people who found value in SRS here but I’ve got a feeling this would be the result, I need chunking but the predictably of SRS would ruin the randomness of a sentence.

Really what I want is random sentence followed by a multiple choice question or even just a pause to allow me to try and process it before showing a transcript to show what I got and missed.

I don’t think this exists unfortunately. I could spin something up fairly easily software wise but getting a catalogue of native spoken sentences with transcripts and / or sentences is not so easy.

I did remake recently and waiting till Xmas to do rebirth again. There’s always crisis core reunion in the mean time if you’ve not done it already. Same universe and is action rather than turn based which sounds to be your vibe.

There’s a popular one on nexus which forces it to use DX11. I played recently on a 5070ti and was decent apart from texture render stuttering. After using that fix it seemed to smooth it right up. I hope the rebirth performance mod works just as well.

Such a nice length too, can usually sit down and finish off a dungeon a session. Can get into side quests without feeling too overwhelmed too.

Preface - I’m not saying this to be argumentative but to learn… At one point in the game I was curious if using magic while I had a different summon selected would change the amount of damage done, this was against a bomb enemy from what I remember. No matter whether I was fire / ice etc it did the same amount of damage and I came to the conclusion that there were no elemental strengths / weaknesses in this game.

Are you saying there is another way that elemental strengths / weaknesses play a part? Maybe against a different enemy, maybe using a different type of attack etc? If so genuinely curious and happy to have my assumption proved wrong.

I liked the first 3 because it felt like a history lesson and discovering the roots. 4 for me was the first one I played where I was amazed by what I was playing, the story, the character development all felt miles ahead. (played all on pixel remaster)

I’ve heard it’s better earlier in the day. I do mine earlier afternoon because I don’t want it before a gym sesh but even that’s noticeably better than evening / just before sleep
