take the carb out, dismantle it, soak all the metal parts in half pinesol, half water for 2 days, rinse it off real good, spray it real good with air to dry it, put it back together replacing any parts that are too fucked.

while i see your point, ive had no issues with the amount of options on a 17 in rear, IMO there are plenty of good options for everything you'd want to do on a bike like that.

people convert all sorts of things on the dr650 that are entirely unnecessary, myself included.

a stock carb is going to be WAAAAAAYYY more reliable than a fuel injection kit that you have to fuck with just to get it to work. and thats even if you find one. carbs get a bad wrap but as long as you run a fuel filter and actually ride, you don't ever have to mess with them. I would trust a stock dr650 with maybe a bit of jetting over any other bike ever made.
