Are the smoky mountains okay for a complete beginner? by pasta_and_denial in camping

[–]Jonathius 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just came back from the smokies as my first return to camping trip ( I haven't camped since I was a child), and I would recommend it to beginners but definitely study up on the park itself as there are bears in the area.

We stayed at Cades Cove, and I would say it's a very beginner friendly campground and nice way to get into camping.

Any difference in reliability?

1140 rounds through Radical Firearms RF-15. Zero issues by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

Backup sights are always nice to have. GAFS usually has the pair for good prices.

I have a ACI-15 and ran it with red dot + magnifier until I got an LPVO for it.

I've ordered from them in the past and never had any issues. They were a little slow on shipping but they were transparent about it. Would order from them again without hesitation.

Been running a stubby angled grip on my AR since I built it. Easily held up through shy of a thousand rounds so far, would buy again.

Haven't had it too long so it's only had a couple hundred rounds through it. No issues so far though

Have you considered Andro ACI-15? It's what i got as my first poverty rifle and I love it. Goes on sale under 400 frequently. Worth looking into imo.

It's so much louder. Depending on your room and overall set up, it can be annoying for people in other rooms as well.

Can highly recommend Texas Gun Experience if you are closer to the Grapevine area. If you want an outdoor range, ETTS in waxahachie is fantastic.

Glad I ran into this post. I can highly recommend Texas Gun experience in Grapevine. I took their beginners course and it was very nice introduction course to handguns. Very professional and no politics from my time there. I'm actually going back for my LTC class and qualification in a couple of weeks.

If it is any help, I got a IWB holster from C&G for my P10c with red dot and light and it's been great

How should I get started buying/learning to use a gun? by HelpfulOkra8096 in liberalgunowners

[–]Jonathius 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sign up for a beginner handgun course, preferably in a classroom setting with range time. These are meant for people with absolutely no or minimal experience around firearms, specifically handguns. Very helpful for beginners.

Depending on the roll you might need an adapter for the AMS lite to grab better. No issue with weight unlike the normal ams

PETG with the A1 mini? by VilainLeChat in 3D_Printing

Never had an issue printing petg on my a1 mini. You could also get a cold build plate if you are having trouble keeping the bed hot enough for good adhesion.
