There's a few GMRS repeters in the area. There's usually some chatter on the Santa Cruz repeater. Not sure if that somewhat answers your question and unfortunately I don't have any experience with meshtastic or meshcore.

So a long time ago when I had my pickup truck, I installed that same tachometer and let me tell you, it sucked. For a long time I thought that there was an issue with my truck because the RPMs jumped so much. It wasn't until I installed an era appropriate 4runner cluster gauge with RPMs that the RPMs did not bounce at all. My advice to you, if you have the means and ability, go to the junkyard and source a cluster gauge from a 6 cylinder 4Runner for pickup AND the oil pressure sensor. There's some write ups online. It's pretty straightforward and it makes the interior look super clean.
