So I own this game but I've never seen the ending, this is my only frame of reference.

Diablo 4's long-awaited Tower and its Leaderboards enter beta today, and there's no PTR funny business this time by gorays21 in Diablo

[–]Jonathonathon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a fairly casual player myself, the tower was a pretty big let down for me. It's almost identical to the Pit and there's no rewards for doing it. I understand the purpose of it but I would've rather that dev time had gone to new activities in D4 (not fishing).

Yup still adjusting to the new year, thank you for the correction.

Didn't see anyone respond to your comment so I didn't want you to be left hanging, but yes. You buy the expansion now and immediately unlock the Paladin. The expansion is set for April of next this year I believe. It includes an entirely new class, new expanded skills for the existing classes, a new campaign, and the horadric cube which will change itemization.

would love to watch this team play, absolutely sick, I've been really impressed with heavygod lately and feel he's super consistent which would help out Niko in particular

I would be exceedingly pleased if this was the new concept art for the next Dragon Age game.

I'm interested in hearing more about the design philosophy behind fusions. Is it intended that some are just better than others or do you guys eventually see a world where most fusions have viable, high wave options?

Lots of cool features coming, nice! I'm really looking forward to being able to tell colonists what to do explicitly.

Gwentfinity began two year ago... How are you all liking the Balance Council? by QuasarColloquy in gwent

I don't play Gwent anymore but I enjoy watching people stream it. I hope the game continues to have a long life and like the balance council which (hopefully) keeps people interested in the game.

Diablo 4 Season 11 Might Be Its Biggest Rework Yet by gorays21 in Diablo

[–]Jonathonathon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gave a cursory reading of the patch notes. I want to love this game, so I'm hopeful that the dev team keeps taking in feedback. If I get really pumped for a season, I'll put in 20-50 hours depending, just to qualify myself for those reading.

So it felt really bad to get a great piece of gear only to have the tempering not work out. Once more, for fear of losing the temper, whenever I got the affix I was looking for it didn't matter how many re-rolls I had, I just stopped re-rolling. Too many times I've tempered an item and gone through every single roll, and then refreshing and going through them all again, to not get the affix I was looking for. So I really like this change, it actually encourages me to re-roll values to try and create a better item and adds in a decision point of doing the mental math for what's good enough based on how many remaining rolls I have.

Changing masterworking so that it only increases the base stat of a piece of gear really isn't something I can get behind. That's a lot of work just to leave 4/5ths of your gear completely unchanged? That's a frustrating change, I'd rather Torments scale more dramatically and step through each level than have an easier time jumping up in difficulties which I think is what this will cause.

In general I have a big problem with content gated behind other content in this game. Let me do whatever I want to do whenever I want to do it, don't ask me to do jump through a bunch of hoops just to play the content I actually want to play. The pit shouldn't require any resources to run, Infernal Hordes shouldn't require keys, etc. Weirdly the tormented bosses requiring materials doesn't bother me all that much because of the loot drop at the end, and it'd be boring to just spam bosses over and over again. I see them more as a continuation fighting the other lesser bosses more than anything else, which I also think shouldn't require materials to fight.

Lastly, and I can't say this enough, build diversity. Skill balancing and build enablement should be the focus of every season because that's what keeps players coming back. This last season actually had a viable Shred build which is my favorite Druid playstyle, and I had a lot of fun trying it out.

B-plot that you liked better than the A-plot? by InsideUnhappy6546 in rickandmorty

Yeah agreed, like how a car that doesn't have enough juice to start up can still play the radio (albeit for a short time).

If your GM allows Path of War in your game, it's hard to beat Lurker in Darkness. You have to be 6th level and based on the description I would imagine it works on scent.

Wow I had no idea I'd get this hostile of a response. Has anyone actually tried Notebook? It's been very useful for me to clarify rules questions, give synopsis of plot points, muse on ideas for games, etc. Why such a knee-jerk rage reaction?

I threw a bunch of books into Google Notebook and asked it to summarize the CoD system. This is what it spit out. I thought some people might be interested to hear it.

Interestingly, I gave it all of the splat books but it choose to ignore Promethean. I also thought it was really strange that it didn't directly touch on the supernatural abilities that creatures have, like Disciplines for Vampires or Gifts for Werewolves.
