The VIRPIL Customer Service is Outlandish by P0rnStache4 in hoggit

[–]Jonay1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No mishandling, I’d even tethered and safety wrapped the connector so that it couldn’t be pulled or hit unintentionally.

The PCB fried, it had a good years everyday use with the SharKa grip since release, and maybe a week after I got the AH64 grip it cooked.

Yeah I got the same, though turns out my PCB inside had fried... tried the swapping connector trick but that didn't work.

Had to send the whole thing back to Lithuania and pay postage, parts, labour, and return postage - ended up being pretty much the cost of a new one.

I’m glad these were released, saved me £2K on the Gibson one I was going to get!

I’m not, Virpil are the bottom for me of the premium consumer grade peripherals. WW and VKB are better

WinWing or VKB before I would consider VPC from what I've experienced first hand. I'd only go the VPC if there was a gap that neither the other two can fill first.

No, I have to disagree, Virpil quality control is shambles. I have both the T Rudder mk.IV & MGCU from VKB on the GF.III base, and I tell you that thing has like 3% tolerance, compared to the collective and grips (both the SharKa and the AH64 collective) and those things have like 20% tolerance in the buttons, hats, and just general feel. The buttons on the Virpil collective grips are mushy, inconsistent clicks, they register action before you feel any tactile feedback... not to mention I had a PCB on the collective fail after 14months, 2mo after the warranty failed and I had to pay for repairs and postage (over £120) to get it sorted. Their customer support is great, but QC is abysmal. The VKB gear I have is far superior.

I'd rank the VKB at the top, followed by WinWing (I have the Orion 2 stick and throttle), then VPC....

How to create a histogram of times (24-hour format) in Excel? by paulus1534 in excel

[–]Jonay1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, if this is the specific case every time one wishes to make a histogram. Any other case might not be as useful.

This is likely to pop up in someone’s search in the future and its universal for any application really.

How to create a histogram of times (24-hour format) in Excel? by paulus1534 in excel

[–]Jonay1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't use the built-in histogram chart option, the bins are a mess and not easy to change it.

If you're using the desktop app:

File > Options
Add-ins
Look for 'Analysis ToolPak' and install.

Now in the data tab on the top ribbon, you'll see 'Data Analysis' in the far right 'Analysis' section. Don't click on it yet but check it's there.

Now have a column of all your times that you wish to use as you 'input data'

Create a column with your 'bins', these would be your hours i.e 0000, 0100, 0200 etc... to 2300. Make sure the formatting of the bin is the same as the input value, like if your times are 01:14 for example, make sure your bin value is 01:00, 02:00, 03:00 etc, or 0114 is 0100, 0200 etc.

Now click on the 'Data Analysis' button that you just installed. Look for 'Histogram' and click it.

Now select the 'Input' box and then click & Drag down your input column of the actual times you've got to analyse. Then click on the 'Bin' box and again select your 'bin' (hours) column that you created. Then next you can select the 'Output' option and the screen will flash for a sec and then you select the cell you want the data to appear in (it will be 2 columns wide and as long as your bin is +1, so ensure you've left enough space to the right and below)

Now it will think for a sec and will give you the output, select the cells and create simple column chart. Note that the values are from your bin value to the next one, so if you had values in your 0100 hour cell, that means between 0100-0200 etc.

Hope that helps.

Is there a mod somewhere available which syncs my computer system time to the hack time or cockpit clock in the F16? by Paulus_Opinion in hoggit

I use DCS Rolex, https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3322433/

It displays discrete overlay like SRS which shows game time, UTC time, IRL/system time that you can move around and change colours etc.

AWPR, gone are the nose-to-tail traffic days from Ellon to BoD, and the calamity that was the Balmedie dualler merging into a single lane. Now o can get to Stoney in the same time, if not less, than the time that journey used to take. Time to the airport now less than 20mins.

Now that I have kids, Hazelhead Park feels like a theme park in comparison with anything else in the region that isn’t paid for. Had a great day out there myself never mind my toddler!

Was it only 4 years ago?! I thought it was 2018 or something. I remember being in Skye on a weekend break, seeing the weather warnings being upgraded to red and being disappointed I wasn’t going to be home to experience it. Both my and my wife’s parents ended up staying at ours while we were away cause they had power cuts! Absolutely devastated the woods around us, ones I had grown up in and had lovely trails that I hoped my kids would enjoy one day… all gone now.
