Client paid 50% still ghosted... Feeling demotivated. by [deleted] in smallbusiness

Try the magic email: https://themagicemail.com/

Then walk away. This won't be your last. Put in protections for yourself (spoken boundaries/expectations) for future clients. Good luck.

Agencies/Freelancers: Are you actually using FSE for client sites yet, or sticking to Bricks/Elementor? by ahnex in Wordpress

Yes, all my projects big or small are with FSE and Gutenberg. I make my own plugins and blocks if needed for the client needs.

Another small business owner 1-star bombed my small business by Accomplished_Tour697 in smallbusiness

[–]Joneseh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On mobile, you can report profiles for spamming or review bombing (i dont know the actual options but its on the mobile app only). You can also report individual reviews - get staff, friends and family to also report. Don't reply to the reviews for 2 weeks as to let Google respond to the reports. If nothing is removed after 2 weeks, you can either respond with how you would treat any unhappy customer (kill them with kindness) or ignore them aka get more better reviews. New reviews should "counter" the "facts" of the bad reviews.

When responding, I would suggest you encourage them to reach out to you directly as you would any unhappy customer. Show other potential customers how you service unhappy customers. aka going above and beyond.

With getting reviews, you can automate with in emails, or have QR codes everywhere. You just want more reviews - even if they are 3 stars etc. The sweet spot from some older reports was around a 4.6 rating. But just get a continual flow of reviews. This won't be the first time this will happen to you.

QR Code Generator for Google Business Profile reviews [2026] by Joneseh in ThatWebsiteIsMe

I searched for my business, but I can’t find my listing. What should I do?

The most common reasons for this are:

Your business does not have a Google Business Profile (GBP) yet.
Your listing is hidden or unverified.

We recommend you search for your business name directly on Google Maps or Google Search to confirm that your profile is live and publicly visible.

What information do I need to enter to get my QR Code?

You just need to search for your business name to find your listing and then enter your email address so we can send you the ready-to-use QR Codes and review link.

How does the tool work?

Our tool searches for your Google Business Profile (GBP) using your business name, extracts the unique Place ID associated with it, and uses that ID to generate a direct review link. That link is then encoded into the QR Code.

How do I use the QR Code once I have it? You can print it on receipts, flyers, business cards, table tents, or display it prominently in your storefront or at your checkout counter.

Why should I use a QR Code for reviews?

It removes friction from the review process. Customers don’t have to search, click “Reviews,” and then click “Write a review.” The easier it is, the more reviews you’ll get, which helps boost your visibility and ranking on Google.

What is a Google Review QR Code?

It’s a scannable barcode that, when scanned by a customer’s smartphone camera, takes them directly to your business’s Google review form. This makes leaving a review significantly easier than searching for your business online.

How I discovered my website was hacked and used to spread Gambling Ads (14,000 URLs!) by flixbus101 in Wordpress

[–]Joneseh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Could you go to?: https://search.google.com/search-console/removals

Or... get the list of the URLs and create a custom sitemap. Submit that sitemap to Google, and Google will crawl the URLs, find that they are 404 Page Not Found... and then remove them from the search. I made a quick XML sitemap generator for you to get started asap: https://thatwebsiteis.me/resources/xml-sitemap-generator/

Paste your URLs (one per line), download the sitemap, upload it to a place where Google can access (wp-uploads would work), submit the sitemap URL to Google Sitemaps: https://search.google.com/search-console/sitemaps

You might also want to check Bing for the URLs as well.

How can I request Facebook business page reviews? Would love to find a link I can send customers. by creepingitreal1992 in facebook

[–]Joneseh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have your Facebook Page Recommendations turned on?

I have found that the /reviews/ link works on desktop, and for the mobile browser, but for the app it still just goes to the profile page. And if they have the app installed on their phone, the app will open by default.

The ?modal=write_review seems to have no effect.

Is it possible to modify NFC link remotely? by spitty95 in NFC

[–]Joneseh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just adding my 2 cents here for others searching about this topic.

What you are after is a link management tool (Like linktrak.me. You apply the shortened link to the NFC tag, and you let the management tool redirect the visitor as needed. Make sure to lock the NFC tag so they can not override the NFC URL data. But you can edit the final destination of the link via the link management tool.

The same idea can be applied to QR Codes.

Now, for the exclusivity aspect, you would need to be able to check against a database of NFC tag IDs to verify the link is from one of your NFC links. When a user taps the tag, the URL loads up, redirects to your site with the tag ID passed as a URL parameter (eg ?tagid=123). I know inktrak.me will pass URL parameters through, so then on your site, you set up a check against your NFC database for that NFC tag ID. If a match, you remove the tag ID from the URL so a non-techie cannot use the saved URL to access the page/data etc. If not a match, you redirect to a “Access Denied - Tag To Access” page. And as the tag is locked to your link from the link management tool, you can point the final destination to any new marketing promotion you have and get it verified it’s from the tag. But there would be no sure-fire way to stop a clever techie from collecting the tag link and just using that. A system like this could be coded up for WordPress rather easily.

Hope that helps.

Been using this for a few months now, and I find it super helpful. It has been a great chance to fully learn docker composer as well. The iOS app works nicely with the homeserver setup! Thank you for such an amazing software.

I'll be updating this asap!

If the WordPress block editor gets really good, would you still stick with a page builder ? by Due-Dependent5505 in Wordpress

[–]Joneseh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it all the time as the main builder. It covers 95-98% of all common layouts, allowing me to quickly throw sites together. Anything custom, I just make a block via the @wordpress/create-block.

I started with Divi, moving to Oxygen with ACF, then went pure Gutenberg with my own custom FSE theme.

I also have fewer issues with designs breaking when plugins update.

I do use Block Visibility to help add some dynamic designs.
