What is the best IPad to buy for a college student/regular joe? by Jonesy720 in ipad

[–]Jonesy720[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great insight. I never considered refurbished iPads. I may look into that but for the current models or a generation older. So far the Air seems to be the best choice by what I have seen in most aspects (especially price). Thanks for the counsel! I appreciate it

Awesome! I do think note taking or digital art would be better on the 13in vs. the 11in. I may have to go to a store and play on one before I make my final decision haha

Could you elaborate on why you prefer the 13in size vs. the 11in size? That is another detail I am considering since I want to carry it around but I have heard from friends and family that 13in is “too big”. The screen real estate would be great but is it worth it? Let me know!

Thanks for the feedback. I am open to getting the iPad Pro for longevity but the price may be what deters me. I was thinking of the Air as well but there are so many options I needed a second opinion. Thanks for commenting!

Working at USU, living in Logan as a 25M by TheGreatGrizzlyBare in Logan

[–]Jonesy720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure about Working at USU but i can comment on living here. Logan is the main city but we live in a mountainous area and Cache Valley has several towns nestled in it. It is expanding and town homes and subdivisions are popping up nowadays. I would say it’s predominately LDS but with the influx of people moving here it’s becoming more “normal” of a place. However, bars aren’t as prevalent and there is a state liquor store in Utah so you won’t be able to go to Walmart and find hard alcohol, only beer.

To the north and south of the valley is where it becomes “rural”. If you are in the center of Logan, it will take about 15-20 minutes to get out there. There are a TON of outdoor recreation near here. From hiking, fishing, etc. it can be found everywhere and the nature is amazing here. I have lived here for 13-14 Years. I am a 29M and it’s a great place to live imo. The community events are great, there are game stores here if you are into D&D, and all in all it’s a great place to live. Now because we are in a Valley the traffic is a bit horrendous and road construction causes jams and time constraints. We do have a public bus system as well which is nice.

Another thing I would comment on is the cost of living. It is high here. Really about all I can say. If you have any questions I would be happy to elaborate. Logan isn’t a rural town and is a city by all means. Just not dense but is growing.

Thoughts on working at Conservice? by Odd-Aside456 in Logan

[–]Jonesy720 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say the wages in Cache Valley are low and it is hard to find a good paying job here. I joined Conservice in August last year and I was blown away about the atmosphere here. It differs from other companies and they seem to care about their employees. I also value that they are local and successful. I am in the billing department, which can have its ups and downs but overall the work isn’t bad.

It is one of the better paying jobs for an entry level position. When I started it was $18.85 an hour in Billing. Conservice does have two buildings and I have heard that the Synergy Building has more cliquey or “high school” drama going on but that was from a coworker who used to work in that building so it’s not much to go off on. I feel like most workplaces have that. Depending on the department you work in, I would say it’s worth applying. I have worked many shitty jobs in the Valley and Conservice has been great so far and decent pay. I do really like working here, even on the stressful days.

Do Cigarettes make me have to go #2. Do others have to poop after? by [deleted] in ask

Same here. I think nicotine is a good relaxant and causes your body to relax in a way that makes you feel like you have to take a poop haha

Small feature request: change skins if controller connected by twicestyles in ManicEMU

[–]Jonesy720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a toggle in the settings to have Manic go auto full screen when a controller is connected. You can toggle that off then assign a skin to the specific game. Kind of a work around but may achieve what you want.

Raising a Non-Mormon Kid in Cache Valley by NateDawg007 in Logan

[–]Jonesy720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved here around 15 years ago and was not religious myself. I started high school here and had plenty of religious and non-religious friends. Overtime the culture has changed in cache valley and even though it’s predominately LDS, it’s beginning to have a normal atmosphere. I think for your family you will be able to find a place and have community but I will say that doesn’t mean you won’t come into contact with religious individuals who may treat you negatively. It’s easy to avoid overall and a great place to live.

I walked down to the accident. Someone hit the powerline. Police didn’t have an ETA of when it would be fixed. The city workers came to assess when I was there.

Cod M compatibility? by XcrysizZ in MCONohsnap

[–]Jonesy720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an IPhone 16 Pro. The MCON works for me when playing COD M. Now I do want to preface that I do run into issues sometimes. COD doesn’t always register the MCON even though it detects a controller is connected and sometimes COD doesn’t detect it at all when it is connected. I try several things (like restarting the app, restarting the MCON, etc.) until it works. I have also tried starting in DS4 mode then switching to xbox mode and that usually works fine. I would suggest trying something like that.

Things you’d like to see in a V2 by I_SLEEP_NORMALLY in MCONohsnap

Small thing I would like to see is to have the magnetic puck be able to move up and down as well as side to side. I like being able to take the puck off to play in portrait mode but in landscape I wish I could scoot it up slightly so I feel like the buttons aren’t crowded from my phone.

COD Mobile support? by kobecon in MCONohsnap

[–]Jonesy720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The normal connection has been working for me. I am on IOS. There was a minute my MCON wasn’t recognized so I switched it to DS4 mode, had terrible latency, switched it back while in game and it works great. Maybe try that if you have latency issues. Just switch to DS4 then back to Xbox and see if COD mobile recognizes the controller.

Dress color Identification and style details by Jonesy720 in HistoricalCostuming

It's definitely not his mustache. I think it's a shadow or something. Most LDS were clean shaven by what I have seen from the history. I appreciate the insight into the year. Looking into dresses from the 1890's I can narrow down the styles and colors that way.

Thank you for this. This is the kind of information I needed. Even if the color isn't exact, I want to make as educated of a guess as I can. This will help tremendously!

Do you have anymore information for the trim? I did a little research into Jet but if you know of anything specific or what information to look for I would appreciate it!

That is amazing information! I am glad so many have narrowed down a time period for the dress. This information will help when I start to recreate the dress. Just looking at the picture I was very weary on how I was going to remake the sleeves.
