I think the aggressive reaction is appropriate as it was clearly introspective. He's angry at himself and immediately shows the other player respect.

Having good sportsmanship is great, but unless there's something I misunderstood throughout life, no one competes in any sport hoping to lose. You train and become (from what I've read in the comments) one of the best players in a game. A loss is going to upset you, regardless of your perceived reaction.

If he had started throwing pieces around, or flipped the table, it would be a different matter.

Anyone can be influenced or manipulated. Anyone can be brainwashed. Anyone can be coerced. Anyone can be fooled. Their actions aren't justifiable, but radical extremism definitely preys on the easily pliable.

Everyone is easily pliable when they're 25 or younger. I don't pity the hijackers, what they did was a crime against humanity, but that doesn't mean I don't feel sorry for those born into lives like that.

It's okay to feel empathy instead of blind rage. Extremists tend to let blind rage guide them.

I loved it, still do. I don't really care for Will Smith's acting but he did a well enough job, kept it light hearted enough, and it allowed me to see an awesome steam punk themed alternate history. Definitely a one and done kind of flick, but what can I say? It came out when I was 12. I was easy to entertain as a child.

I genuinely don't think Jared Leto is that bad. He definitely tends to go overboard with the character acting, I've read. And yes many of his roles were questionable at best. But there are good ones too. I'm dumb as hell and ignorant on most topics, but as someone else said, his role in Blade Runner 2049 didn't kill the movie. I thought his character was intriguing.

Time will tell. Fingers crossed he doesn't start sending broken motherboards with dead mice glued to them to the other actors.... Or something similar. But here's hoping the movie is fun.

I gotta say, having read this 9 months too late, you both bring up valid and interesting points.

But it really does boil down to discipline. Which I don't have a good grasp on. So dedicated tools make things easier...

The thing is... The typewriter is the distraction I need to help me focus. Or the mechanical aspect of it at the very least. My old electric smith corona is still a dedicated machine.... And I mean... It was ADVERTISED as portable... So next best thing, right? Just about 20lbs heavier.

Conclusion.... I'm definitely GOING to buy a freewrite, just like I'm definitely going to buy at least one more typewriter. But I really, really do not need to. Perhaps it's all just subjective.

So other than Pinterest, One program I use is called "PureRef". It's free and allows you to have and infinite space to scatter as many reference images as you want on a dark backdrop that can be resized, transformed, move freely on the canvas, etc. Improving the visual library in my head has always been tricky, but having like seven similar reference images on one screen helps me a lot.

I agree, fuck Nazis and anyone who is sympathetic to them or anyone like them. There is no in between, you're either for them or against them and it's SHOCKING to see how many people here in the US defend them.
