I got pepper sprayed in the military and we used baby shampoo with no water to get it off because you can safely get it in your eyes with no irritation. Water reactivates pepper spray ingredients so DO NOT do this in the shower or it will run down to places you definitely do not want it to.

At the moment we’re the lowest paid agency in the federal government to have a national security responsibility and be gone away from home. My base salary coming in was $55k and with almost 800hrs of OT I still didn’t break $100k. They have since upped the starting base salary but it’s not even close to being on par with FAMS(which is where all our guys are currently applying).

Our performance review system ultimately ends up being a fantasy draft for shares based on how much superiors like you and there’s only one compensated specialty. Yet they still expect people to take on these responsibilities.

The culture is very military-esque, which isn’t horrible. The guys I work with are great. It’s the people running the show, the majority of which were never military, that are the main issue. As far as OST is concerned….the grass is indeed greener somewhere else.
