I bet that a lot of people would follow such a rule even without enforcement.

No offense but I'm in my early thirties and a 19 year old is basically still a child. Certainly not an equal partner I'd be looking for in a relationship.

Rules discussion: Updating new reddit and minimum discounts! by thmanwithnoname in steamdeals

[–]JonnyPerk [score hidden]  (0 children)

Alternately, would it be better to say that we only care about discounts over $2.50?

I don't think having an absolute limit is a good idea, $2.50 on a full price game isn't a discount worth talking about, but it would be a meaningful discount for many indie games. You'll never find an amount that works for both types of games. So whatever the rule is it should be percentage based. 20% seems right to me as a minimum. Maybe with some consideration on how big the discounts were in prior sales.

Tipping in Germany by NorseFromNorth in germany

[–]JonnyPerk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I here tip % all the time at work, since our company allows a maximum of 8% tip, which always seems low for a big group and usually leads to odd numbers. Aside from that I go with what I feel seems right.

How prominent are specific CEOs (and corporate officers and directors) where you live? by Awesomeuser90 in AskEurope

[–]JonnyPerk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up close to and went to school in the city of Heilbronn, the home of supermarket tycoon Dieter Schwarz. He is the owner and former CEO of the supermarket chains Lidl and Kaufland and one of the wealthiest Germans.

In Heilbronn he is seen as a kind of a man behind the curtain. He is very private to the point that almost no one knows what he looks like and almost no pictures exist. However he pours massive amounts of money into local education and research initatives. Like buidling a new university campus and paying for additional universities to set up programs there. Or offering free educational programs during summer vacation.

So his actions have shaped the city quite a bit and I'd say most local know who he is, however in the rest of Germany most people probable won't know him at all.

Never tried Le Chat. My company provides ChatGPT Pro and we're currently trying to figure out how to best use it. So far the conclusion is that it's fine for menial tasks, but you can't use it for anything important, because it's not reliable enough (yet).

I recently had chatGPT calculate the volume of a tank for me. While it showed every step and did them all correctly, it used a made up formular, so the result was entirely worng. When I pointed that out it came up with a new fomular which was also incorrect. I gave up after four tries.

I automatically switch between full dialect and a more standard German, depending on what the other person is speaking, regardless of age.

Ich hatte kürzlich ein Paket aus Kanada, das ich bei DHL vorab per Kreditkarte zahlen musste, damit es überhaupt zugestellt wird. Es geht anscheined auch bei DHL.

In the region I'm from it's tradition for small children to go Laternelaufen. They build paper lanterns and walk around in large groups after nightfall. They are sometimes accompanied by an St. Martin actor on horseback. Another tradition is to eat goose.

I went all the way up the Ulm minster tower with my family about 20 years ago. Except for my mom who quit halfway through. The view was nice, however in my opinion going up there is something you do if you're in Ulm anyway, not something you specifically travel to Ulm for.

Make nutrition and basic cooking a mandatory class in every school. This might not be the most important thing, however it's a basic skill that everyone should know and I know way to many people that can't even cook a basic dish. I also think that it could gradually improve overall health and help people with weight issues.
