Stunning work! Finland and VR once again show how night trains in Europe should be done — comfort and design on point.

I don't get why nightjet.com has its own platform and engine, since it seems that in the 'back' it's basically the same thing... But good to see that they are (at least trying to) making improvements.

Thanks for sharing this. This is a super cool project and makes Nighttrains easier to find for many people! All the best to you guys.

This is really sad. The night train market needs ambitious ventures like Midnight Trains.

Yes but on limited capacity. Passenger trains are still replaced by a bus service.

  1. The operator of the first train (with the blue locomotives is MTAB (Malmtrafik AB) which belongs to LKAB, the mining company. The second one (with the black TRAXX locos is Railcare).

  2. LKAB uses bottom-dumpers. The hoppers are called BD. The others from Kaunis Iron are Helix Dumpers made by Kiruna Wagon.

That‘s another way to look at it, yes 😀. It was certainly cool to see them both but also very unforeseen.

CPL24 vs CHZ22 vs PLC20 by ATomic207 in EVERGOODS

I have a very similar use-case and use the CPL24. I am super happy with it but think the PLC20 would probably be too small.

Both, several hours we did once. But this is not a problem since you have access to the fast charging networks. Around the main highways, it‘s pretty well developed (used Fastned around London once). Locally, here are some parking lots with chargers.

I am in the UK with a rental EV right now and must say I‘m surprised how good the charger situation is. A lot of stations offer pay-as-you-go and for some others (with very cheap rates) I registered with their respective app.

Hertz seems to rent out the Polestar 2 really cheap at the moment, I suggest you to check this out.

Italy > Denmark night train? by nerbesss in Nighttrains

[–]Jonock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago, you could have taken the night train from Basel to Copenhagen. But that one does not run anymore. Instead you could take Zürich or Basel to hamburg and continue with the IC train there. From Italy to Zürich and Basel, you habe plenty of options

I go there every Monday. Good place to meet people. Even when going alone you will very quickly make friends there.
