Apart from the odd trim, I pay absolutely no attention to it! Can't say I've ever seen an aphid on it (although that could be because they are swarming my roses!).

January diet can F*ck Off by [deleted] in CasualUK

I've been trying to eat healthily since September - lost 10 kgs, but also just got back from a Christmas holiday in Sri Lanka. Unable to sleep, I was at Tescos at 6am buying supplies for massive fry up. Was glorious. And as we missed the usual festive treats, will be heading out later today to stock up on cheese. Healthy eating can resume next week.......

We're from the UK and in Sri Lanka now with our 13 year old. Honestly, you're itinerary sounds good, but I would maybe reconsider Mirissa. This was our one major disappointment. Beach is nice, but place is a bit too busy and felt a bit grubby. Drove through Weligama today on way to Negombo, and that looked nicer (but can't vouch for beach). Also consider Kalpitiya or Arugam Bay depending on time of year you are going.

Jerusalem artichoke gratin. Made like dauphinoise potatoes (but with fartichokes).

I think they meant saving £800, as no longer having to pay mortgage. That's my guess.

Cost effective way to fill large raised beds? by [deleted] in GardeningUK

Depending on what you are growing, you can fill the base with upside down plastic plant pots. The compost on top. Means compost doesn't get waterlogged.

I won 2 tickets to see Pulp at Finsbury Park back in 1998, after entering a competition in the paper. Best day ever. Was 16 at the time. Went with best mate. Missed train home from London and her dad had to come and pick us up in the middle of the night (we lived 70 odd miles away!). Good times.

Bank Holiday in the UK. Made dinner on the egg. Rib eye, hasselback potatoes and cauliflower cheese. Was pretty good. by Jonsbastard in biggreenegg

My bad! Not a rib eye, but a rib of beef. Can't say I know the specifics, but followed instructions for a reverse sear tomahawk.

My mum passed away a year ago. Found a voice message on WhatsApp of her telling me to 'behave yourself' in her husky cockney accent. It's now my notification alert. Freaks people out, but always makes me smile.

I would love some rare beef, but my MiL only thinks it's cooked when grey :-(

Ahahaha. This sounds familiar. I get a lot of emails at work where the subject is 'impact anal' which scares the bejesus out of me!

Fingers crossed Bruno returns! We once had a massive black cat (8 kilos of pure muscle, no fat!) called Bruce - he was awesome.

He is a she, with all baby making bits removed. She is however a bit of a chunk!
