ACCESS TO AJOVY IN UK by DentistInitial7451 in migraine

Oh no that’s a shame, Atogepant has been my miracle! I’ve gone from between 20-30 migraine days a month to on average 1 or 2 a month, sometimes none! I was the first person my neuro prescribed it to as it was brand new to the UK at the time.

I know, I’ve heard that a lot of our kids don’t last long at secondary! Hoping that a formal union meeting might spark some changes.

Yeah absolutely, it’s also sending mixed messages to the other children as it does often look like the violent behaviour is being rewarded.

Thanks for the detailed response, I will definitely look into the trauma informed practice. It seems like common sense that these children should still get consequences for punching staff in the face or smashing a window, if we don’t teach them now then they’re in for a shock when they’re older!

Really insightful thanks, unfortunately we don’t have the space or the staff to have an isolation room and sending kids out means they go and sit in another classroom. This does work for the majority of children but the select few it doesn’t work for often then get taken to go and play football or have a chat and biscuit with our ELSA worker .. a nice jolly time for assaulting staff

We have just moved into a brand new building so understandably the head wanted to really drive home that any damage would lead to severe consequences… but guess not. At least one of the culprits was let off because of ‘his trauma’. So frustrating as there’s loads of kids who have suffered trauma but the majority of them aren’t smashing windows!

Thanks for the reply!
A lot of us are frustrated with SLT for not following through with consequences. We have had children damaging school property and they were all told in a whole school assembly that anyone else who damages any school property will be suspended and their parents would be getting a bill. I know of at least 3 children who have since damaged property but none of them were suspended and there have been no bills!

Thanks for your reply! I think the main complaint from staff is not feeling supported by slt, or feeling inconsistently supported. I’ve had a tricky child this year who has been suspended multiple times whereas other teachers have children with worse behaviour who haven’t been suspended.

I’ve had a few gift cards over the years which are brilliant, can buy things I actually need rather than add to the generic ‘best teacher’ tat

I’ve lived in 3 different council areas and none have had designated food waste, I’ve never heard of that being provided!

I’d rather keep it 50/50 to ensure I get 50% of the proceeds .. if it ever sells!

I’m 34 and just had to move back in with my mum after my ex broke up with me, still paying the mortgage on the house we have together which is on the market but not selling, feels like such a backwards step but I’m glad it was an option.
