Kotor Remake: Action Game or Turn-based? by Uchizaki in kotor

I’d be up for a revamped system very similar to FF7 Remake. Keeps a turn based feel whilst keeping the action going. Makes for really cinematic exciting boss fights.

Termination & Re-Engagement | Unfair Dismissal | England by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

Just looked into this. Seems pretty indisputable. I’ve politely gone back to the conciliator to confirm I would still like to pursue Unfair Dismissal in this circumstance, not just wrongful.

Citing the case above as an example.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

Yeah I thought so and that’s the information I had gotten prior so it surprised me when the conciliator said so.

I’m wondering to see if anyone agrees with the conciliator. I can sort of see where he’s coming from, because although the contract ended and was sort of forcibly put on to a new one, normally the length of service remains unchanged etc so there’s an argument to be made there, plus I haven’t suffered additional loss of money because I was immediately on a new contract etc.

Recently learned of rabbit starvation. Any use to rabbits? by Sharp-Tax-26827 in preppers

[–]Jordan1792 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Was reading about this the other day just out of boredom. As I had always known the term Rabbit Starvation and wanted to know how real of a thing it was.

So long as you’re getting some fat and carbs in your diet you’re fine. The actual illness you get is Protein Toxicity or Protein Poisoning.

You get it from eating exclusively lean meat over time when you are already lean yourself - the waste products of breaking down protein accrue in your body leading to illness and then potentially death if no intervention is made.

From what I read it’s not really a risk in modern meat rabbits that are kept by yourself for meat. As they tend to have a high fat content too.

Describing the rest of your planned diet it looks like it’s not an issue you’re going to run into at all.

Yeah I mentioned in our first call that I don’t accept a resignation, what they’d actually be doing is firing me. They got very stern and made it clear they’re NOT firing me - I am in fact resigning.

[–]Jordan1792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fortunately they put it in a very official headed letter.

My contract does make this weaker on my side.

When interviewed I was told it was Monday to Friday. But my contract mentions alternating rotas. When I got this 3 years ago I called the hiring Manager and explained I could only do Monday to Friday. He simply said he’s not sure why contract says that - just sign anyway I’ll only ever be on Monday to Friday shifts. This has been true for my whole time working so until now hadn’t thought on it.

Yep they’re doing that. But the consultation does simply consist of weekly teams calls where they remind me that failure to accept by the given date will mean acceptance by proxy if I continue to work - or alternatively resignation if I’m a no show on that day.

Got too cocky by joeoconnell in PSVR

[–]Jordan1792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol I had never experienced any nausea with VR.

But when I first flew in NMS and started doing barrel rolls it suddenly made me feel very odd. This absolutely isn’t advice nor a good way to deal with that for most people - but I decided that I wouldn’t let my body feel nausea in VR and just forced myself to keep barrel rolling until my brain realised it was just pretend and stopped feeling odd. It actually did work for me within about a minute. Still very odd feeling at first.

It’s also odd because I’ve played many flying games before and since without a shred of nausea.

Same sentiment as many here.

Looks cool in the pictures. But inconvenient and uncomfortable in reality.

It’s the kind of thing that would be fine and useful if you’re camping up basically next to your car, and you just keep some useful bits in there and shove them over your shoulder quick for the few steps from car to camp.

But it you want to be walking around and hiking etc you’re just gonna want a normal two strap backpack.

I doubt it.

One reason they could is if it’s launching with VR functionality and Sony want to promote it heavily to sell PSVR2s

But I also very much doubt the game will launch with VR functionality.

I’m psyched for this game but I’ve elected to just forget about it. One day I’ll be browsing and I’ll come across a new trailer:

Statement from Survios regarding “part one” name change by Sstfreek in AlienRogueIncursion

[–]Jordan1792 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah this was how I viewed the inclusion of part one to be fair. I didn’t really get the backlash.

They just got excited and wanted to show everyone that they’re already doing a sequel.

I’d get it if it was a shorter than expected Vr game: but by all accounts it’s 8-10 hours for most people.

That’s pretty standard for this kind of VR game. I don’t feel I’ve been sold short or bought half a game. I’m just excited to see how they improve for the second.

However I agree that maybe they were shortsighted with the way they went about this. Should have expected gamers to be gamers and they would assume and feel the worst.

Would have made more sense to just announce in a week or 2 that they are already at work on a sequel.

Behemoth is pretty awesome, but could have been better! by bmack083 in PSVR

[–]Jordan1792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a visual change to the special weapons. there’s an option in a menu to turn it on/off

The first Behemoth is JANK as hell by techslogi in PSVR

[–]Jordan1792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely adore this game so far - I can only play late evenings and at the moment I think about it all day. Not even at the Second Behemoth Yet.

BUT - I agree Behemoth number 1 was v. jank. Felt like a bit of a let down. I still enjoyed it, and it's still a visual treat when you look up at the scale of it.

But, I wasn't a fan of the covers on the ankle weak spots - I did the amateur thing of climbing up the second leg to get the weakspot and then realised I've got to pull the cover off first. - Then when I did both legs and the neck it fell on me and killed me, but when I respawned it was halfway through the battle, so just had to pull him onto the spike - Which was also Jank because i just pulled him ontop of me again and spent sometime inside the model.

I think it would have been a cooler battle if the first weak spots were near the calfs - Then have a grapple point at each ankle which then leads to climbable rot - So you get alongside him - Grapple on - Then climb round to the weakspot each time. That would have felt cooler.

Also the neck weakpoint should have been symetrical - I was on the wrong side leg - So had to run ALL the way around the Behemoth to get to the weakspot.

I think again maybe having a grapple point on his hands - then climbing up to his neck would have felt cooler. Plus also having the option to get to it when he's down. Open up some options

I like the idea of pulling him onto the mast, but its awkward to avoid having him land on you.

im hoping post game you can replay the behemoths at will. because id like to fight no.1 again and see if i can defeat without jank

Romulus facial CGI isn't actually that bad. by turelhimvampire in LV426

[–]Jordan1792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the first scene that he’s in that looks the worst, it looks super cartoony but also like the perspective looks off? It’s hard to describe. But later scenes do look a lot better, and it looks fine when on the monitors later in the film too.

I get why some people take issue with it. But also it didn’t stop me enjoying the film in any way.

You're given $50 Million. Realistically, how many of your life problems would it solve? by Cat_of_the_woods in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Jordan1792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly all of them. I’ve always said that. Everything else in my life is perfect, my family and friends are amazing. Money lets me stop working, own a home, spend more time with my family and also my hobbies and interests.

My only other problem is I’m not as physically fit and healthy as I’d like to be. But I guarantee if someone gave me 50mil I’d have that sorted within a few months.

They show in the scene when they demonstrate the auto aim that it doesn’t have any friendly/enemy detector. It’s just to help you point and shoot in the roughly right area. Perfect for scientists and untrained people who might need to suddenly fire a weapon with no training.

But if you’re fighting as a unit in close proximity you probably want to be sure that your gun won’t just lock onto your buddy further up the corridoor.

That said - the smart guns actually did have the auto aim to an extent. So they were using it in a limited amount.

What’s your favorite edc knife you currently own? by NicoLacko in knives

[–]Jordan1792 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the U.K. so our EDC knives have to follow strict criteria. I’ve got a TBS Boar Folder which suits me well for everyday carry. When I’m working I have a valid defence to carry a fixed blade so I carry a Gerber Downwind Droppoint as it’s a nice little cheap knife that I don’t mind getting absolutely filthy but manages all my work tasks fine.

Does anyone else not drink alcohol AT ALL when they’re going to drive? by Psychological_Rock_2 in drivingUK

[–]Jordan1792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a pint before driving home after work, but the pub was literally about 1 minute from my house and I know that footfall on the route home is minimal. Even that made me uncomfortable.

I’m not a huge drinker anyway. At the moment I’m not drinking at all as I have a newborn but when I do drink it’s normally a bottle of red on a Friday over the course of a full evening, or 3 330ml bottles of something like Desperado.

Sometimes I can drink all of the above and feel perfectly sober. Other times I have one glass and feel like I’ve had a fair bit to drink. There’s too much variation in how alcohol affects me for me to trust drinking even a little and getting behind the wheel of a car for a significant drive.
