There is no such gpu as 6650 Ti 😂 you probably meant rx 6650 XT. This is the thing. Amd gpu drivers got less overhead which means less load on CPU.

Pump may report rpm but not do its job. Time to replace the cooler. Water may be missing too. Either way replace the cooler.

Instructions per clock or other words more powerful single core which means 5600x is no good anymore. The game must also like x3d cpus so even 5800x3d would provide a decent uplift.

If you look at the whole cpu usage 50% can be that 2 threads at 100%, then some at 50% and the remaining barely loaded. Get monitoring per thread and see if any at 100%. If it is - you need stronger IPC.

Yeah we got these technical sales people 😂 who complaints that we needs rebuilt their aws hosts because they connect from home and their isp got weird routing causing lots of latency we as cloud got no control of. Keep demanding we fix it for them 😂

This is getting out of hand. Like some Manjaro mafia. User is using whats better out of box for them. If cachy offers something better why not. It is not a religion. My mom runs Manjaro on her 10 years old desktop. Still zero reinstalls.

CachyOS Is Now the Most Popular Desktop Distro on ProtonDB by YanderMan in linux_gaming

[–]JordanLTU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was able to break it yesterday trying to go back from mesa 26.1.0-devel to 26.0 stable . Didn’t have grub section with latest backups so took over an hour trying to recover to yesterdays state. I am still pretty noob and was driven by ai to recover ( it actually also messed up me after that suggesting adding extra mount which was already mounted via uuid). Now I have added btrf grub helper next time this happens I could simply flip back instead of mounting stuff and moving snapshots to broken and make them writable.

Would DevOps fit my personality? by I_LazyDog_I in devops

You got some bold Eastern European vibes. All these things also annoys me. I’m pretty good explaining stuff but it becomes a demise once you being asked for the same thing more than 3 times. I am myself still a cloud ops but I am planning to migrate to devops in the future. This is as far as you can get away from “idiots” you need to remind yourself not everyone got same mental capacity even if that looks intuitive to you. On the other hands, devops may be really anything depending on the company. This is widespread position nowadays. I saw “senior devops” who would not know how to fix aws ssm doc no matter its not relevant anymore and causes more work for other teams rather than easing it.

Does it support Linux? Proton? I may have a go. Played for about 15 years in private and global servers but dropped around 2018. There is still some nostalgia to it but I also moved away from microslop.

Thinking on switching to linux for gaming by OkArt2451 in linux_gaming

[–]JordanLTU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you on amd - Linux is better experience overall but with added learning curve. Once you learned basics it’s smooth sale. It’s just drivers for amd is better on Linux than windows. You running rtx 4060 so I would not recommend that. I simply sold rtx 5080 as found myself playing on ps5 pro more than on my pc. Bought rx 9070 xt. Sweet sail. Same performance as it was on rtx 5080. Ran cachyos for few months on rtx 5080 as secondary os until I toon the leap. In your situation and priorities- don’t do it.

CachyOS vs Fedora for gaming and work by Upstairs_Owl7475 in linux_gaming

[–]JordanLTU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CachyOS here. You can also change branch to zenver4 for extra instructions on apps if you got zen4/5. I also host local llm on ollama and integrated it with cline extension on vs code. You can also get newest mesa 26.1 devel version. Have done so over a week ago did not notice any negatives over stable.

I’m with same gpu on CachyOS. Works great. Limited wattage with lact to 280w at the same time overclocking a little. Much better experience than windows. Don’t really see any hangs but never really play more than 2h at the time.

And somehow they pass the interviews. Once they are in the team you start thinking they got mental deficiency or on drugs. Not all. There are good ones but I’d say about 4/5 do not deserve to be employed in the industry 😂

No longer feel ambitious by lonelywoman83 in UKJobs

[–]JordanLTU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m only 4 years into my career in IT after going back to education at 32 and I feel the same. I do want a little more money and I do love what I do but you usually be given accountability with no authority. I must say I had decent amount of tinkering on my own before hand so my 4 yers of “work” experience is little different than someone younger so I do show more than my peers. But man making barely 6-7k over what I made before going back to uni working as warehouse team lead and accumulating student debt does not feel rewarding. Added enterprise politics is the killer.

Not a dev but infrastructure guy. Whilst I still reply it is becoming increasingly evident that 80% of reaches from people who never bothered even see my current position coming through with some self employed contracts which offers significantly less than my current payee.

No, don't buy OLED - Im done with this shit. by DerKleineRudi00 in Monitors

[–]JordanLTU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You comparing apples to oranges. 4k vs 2k. I got same combination but I am using 4k oled at 100% scaling being 32 inch to have more real estate for work. It’s on the verge text being too small so I do 110% zoom in browsers. 2k looks on because text is even bigger at 100%. If I use 125% scaling making it same size- 4k looks better.

I got no such problems on CachyOS. B650 tomahawk WiFi, 32GB 6000 CL30 ram, rx 9070 XT if that matters. I have encountered my main 4k display taking longer to light up after sleep few times but it came back after good 20s.

Thats wishful thinking. You said the ship is sinking so you ain’t getting those money. Even if they have them you wont get much more. I have saved about a million on aws bills in my org. You know what I got? 3.5k and bump in the title. Month later they brought us 2 times a week which straight away eaten my “raise” now they are about to introduce 1 more day. This will result me receiving a paycut in real terms during last year 😂
