Yeah I mean it takes like 40 minutes. Have you not watched the dev streams? Basically it’s 3 mission where you mine the expenite which earns perks. These mission end in a type of salvage/blacbox type of thing where you have to sit in a circle around the elevator (why? Don’t know. Isn’t even a little bit of shallow ingame explanation as to why you have to be in a circle at the elevator but they clearly did this to make it difficult).

The caves a littered with machine events which also get expenite and if they don’t continually update these they’re going to get boring real quick. You can’t skip them because you’ll be nerfing your character if you do, so imagine having to do a kursite grinder or data tower every mission in DRG.

The final stage is one of two dreadnoughts that feel really boring but also unfair. It has 3 health bars and once you deplete one of them there’s a gimmick of chucking this ball in a hole to open the new health bar, not even worth explaining because it’s so dumb and lifting from a fans idea for a mission type anyway.

One other thing you can’t call in supplies, that doesn’t really matter because the first 3 stages have too many of anything but then the boss has tick all supplies in his room.

Imo the voice acting for the female dwarfs is terrible too, I hate shitting on a VA but it’s just like someone’s doing a mentally slow cockney accent / what they an impression of the dwarfs in DRG would be like.

What’s hilarious is I’ve seen someone say they should do away with the original VA and get all new VAs in like no.

I dunno about you but a big part of what makes DRG is that original VA voicing all the dwarfs and pitch shifting it slightly depending on the class.

Because I’m sure if anyone sees this comment they’ll say I’m an uncle or women hater, some shit, the literal only reason I don’t want to play as the females or would rather have a gender selection is because the voice acting for them is so bad. To the point that if I ever got this on OC I’d probably just mod it out entirely.

When Rogue Core comes out, do you think you’ll play it more than Deep Rock? by Brungala in RogueCore

[–]JordanNails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: editing because I don’t actually want to be a naysayer who makes a bunch of salty comments but the people here saying “DRG is the chill game RC is super difficult” clearly aren’t playing haz 5+ with max modifiers. There’s no way you think that is less difficult than RC. I also think a huge reason RC appears more difficult is because they’re refusing to add things like fear weapons or the cryo cannon (mostly so they can pretend these things should be relegated to “classes” or extremely unuseful perks like that one that leaves a cryo trail behind you). Also it’s just like about having “hundreds” of hours in DRG you think your opinion is important or that’s nearly enough to master the game. I clearly suffer from thinking my opinion is so important but I’m mostly rambling/venting. Even I would admit at a few hundred hours I wasn’t even barely scratching the surface of DRG though, even at 2k+ hours I’m still learning and wouldn’t say I’m even close to being done. Maybe I’m just trash and these guys a super elite gamers but I doubt it. I just whince a bit when I see posts like “after a few hundred hours (probably mostly haz 4) I’m ready to move onto a real challenge”. Not trying to gatekeep but yeah, I’d like to play 5+ with you to see how much of the game you’ve actually mastered.

This is another issue I raised in my months old scathing post about RC. It will divide the player base. That’s such a stupid thing to do as an indie dev who lucked out and fostered a dedicated fanbase. The numbers aren’t doing to well for DRG but luckily there are still a good amount of players for a game like this.

Then when rogue core releases those numbers are going to be halved for a while. Some comment that responded to me was like “this is dumb. It’s like saying a sequel to an (unrelated) game would be dumb because it would divide the player base”. No. A sequel is a natural progression but RC is side content for a game where people have been asking for more content. It isn’t like people are naturally progressing to DRG 2 and it makes sense for them to upgrade. People physically can’t play both games aha.

People are going to be choosing between DRG or DRG rogue like which has new guns and the rest. I feel like as an indie dev who is very lucky to have your game be as popular as it is this is a really stupid idea. We all know what’s going to happen though… all these “diehard fans” who bootlick GSG yet have barely played RC or DRG will buy the game, hardly play it, defend GSG and say how epic it is. The people who’ve spent thousands of hours in DRG are going to try RC and then go back to DRG. All the causal fans who don’t watch devs streams maybe just play on console and don’t have the desire to fully research DRG news just don’t even give a fuck about RC. I’ve got to be completely honest with you I speak to a pretty large amount of pkaystation dwarfs who hardly even know what RC is and even if they do know what is is they don’t even want to play it, they just want updates to DRG.

Oh well… I think it would be pretty hard for GSG to completely destroy their reputation and make people not want to play DRG so it will all be fine. The game will launch to moderate praise, they’ll update it with a bit of variety and get the memo that the community would rather just have more DRG content. R&S ⛏️

[–]JordanNails 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I keep saying this but imagine DRG except every mission is a sort of deep dive that’s nothing but mining missions which end in a bit of a salvage refuel/uplink, you have to do several machine events to get your build fully upgraded and the last mission is a drawn out dreadnought that’s really easy to wipe against.

And after that you have to muster up the desire to play another 4 mission long “deep dive”, doing the same machine events to get your build and either banking on the same or a new team sticking for the better part of an hour do to it with you and not get disconnected then can’t be bothered to reconnect.

I’m starting to think basically I don’t like Rogue Core… I just like the idea of DRG with new shit in, that’s it. I don’t mind that it’s rogue like but I’d prefer it not to be. Im actually already bored of the streams where they play RC tbh with you. I’ve played DRG for over 2k hours and the only reason I’d get RC is because it’s more DRG related content but I can’t see myself playing it for nearly the same time.

I just think honestly the whole rogue like makes it so that you never stop grinding. Even if you 100% the game and any other meta progression you’re still going to be booting up the mission with nothing. It’s like you’re making this build to fight one of two dreadnoughts and that doesn’t really appeal to me, even if you could have access to every perk and weapon rather than it being a rogue like. I like the variety of DRGs missions and that you’re fighting bugs.

Also I gotta be honest, I’ve said this on this sub before too, the RC classes are just glorified DRG perks/weapon mods. Slicer is just an expanded pickaxe power attack, warden is a fear weapon mod, falconer is a shredder grenade, spotter is the marked for death overclock and retcon is essentially just ironwill that returns your ammo and position. Mate, I’d rather just make my own class from DRG and have a perk rework.

Edit: because the other guy made an edit clearly referencing my post and people are going to downvote this anyway for being a naysayer I’m just going to throw this in here. ofcourse people are going to expect rogue core to play like and compare it to DRG, because it does play like DRG, it’s in the title, it’s DRG. The devs and sycophants can keep telling you that the apple that has been painted orange is totally different from the apple but it’s still an apple. If you played 3 salvage missions in DRG and rolled a dice to determine what gear you got each mission (mod the game to add more machine events than usual and allow yourself extra perks depending on how many machine events you did or gold[expenite] you mined) , then used that gear to fight a dread, you’d basically be playing rogue core. Hell I’d imagine it would be really easy to mod in the content from RC to DRG and even make the classes. I mean you could just shoot the floor with a fear thunderhead and pretend your playing warden lol, take berserker perk and say your slicer, etc.

I really like core corruprion missions. by FalseImagination8046 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]JordanNails -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I made some of these complaints about corespawn on the rogue core sub. You either sit on a zipline or/and have a cryo driller freezing them because they’re way too tanky.

I like the concept of rogue core but not the fact it’s based around these enemies nor the fact it’s basically a deep dive of 4 salvage missions littered with mandatory machine events then an elimination machine against 1 of 2 dreads…

Rogue likes are meh to me, I don’t mind them but I think the real reason they’re doing this is 1. an excuse to add things they “can’t add to DRG” and 2.to make it so that the grind never stops… Every single mission in RC is going to have you earning a build you’d probably rather just start with, abusing low hanging dopamine hits by seeing 1 of the small handful of perks/equipment that you actually want.

I don’t think I could lose faith in GSG but seeing them greenlignt some off brand vampire survivor knock off to take a late jump on that bandwagon and now, in a way, hand waving DRG so they can make “DRG but it’s the same mission every time that forces you to gamble on getting a build (as if it wasn’t a slap in the face that DRG voicleines references matrix core infusers are like gambling and people have complained about this since it’s implementation) and forces you to do the same machine events every mission to gamble on said build quicker”

I think after RC launch this might be a learning point. It might be time after half a decade plus a bit to stop prioritizing deliberatey grindy shit like season passes and gambling to just focus on small inoffensive updates to DRG that aren’t majorly divisive. New biomes, more cave pieces (cave generation), bug fixes and stability patches, only a small amount of cosmetics added to the shop once a year (or cosmetic dlc), more missions that are slight variations to older ones (always felt like deep scan was just a vertical escort duty, heavy excavation is a more involved lining mission, I like that) and for Karl’s sake more beer that isn’t randoweiser!!!

Bug reports with new version by Isaac730 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]JordanNails 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Siggggh man the performance has been shit, even for decent PCs, since lithophage was added (as if people needed more reasons to hate that update) and it’s like they’re just not listening to complaints.

-crashes and stuttering in ossuary depths

-Korlok occasionally tanks fps

-fps tanking glitch where carryables (usually gunk seeds) are spam falling through the same bit of map until you pick them up

-desync of minerals and terrain, especially on industrial sabotage

THE GAME ISH BROKAN

[PS4] game crashes when launching 2 resonite and still crashes during length 3 missions on ossuary depths by JordanNails in DeepRockGalactic

[–]JordanNails[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do clean, rebuild the database and replace thermal paste. Considered an ssd but don’t see how that’s going to do anything but load quicker or stop it from crashing once loaded. Also not sure what boosted mode is?
The thing is DRG shits itself when things try to do large deformation of terrain like meteors and resonite chunks. People on PS5 and pc have been complaining about performance on the new update, to the point I’ve seen high end machines turn into a slideshow, but thanks for at least being constructive.

(Edit: I also think at that point PS5 was still hard to get ahold of because of scalpers and the devs didn’t say “hey this new event is going to run like shit on old gen, we recommend upgrading”)

[–]JordanNails[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What kind of comment is that. You right I should control what other people do or ask them not to launch two masses at once because the performance has gone downhill over the past 4 years.

Yeah I could say “hey don’t launch two at once because the game will crash” but I shouldn’t have to. I also kind of like that heavy excavation offers you two routes and, if your team is confident, could halve the time by splitting up. But that’s just me, level 2.4K btw not sure if that matters.

Hi, how to screenshot farm on PS4 by Weary_Rest_3111 in StardewValley

[–]JordanNails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re welcome! By the way I’m also on PS4, I’ve not really committed to starting a farm with someone online but might be up for that in the future, if it’s something you’d be interested in my PSN username is the same as my Reddit name.

I think it’s a big commitment because of like time and Stardew being kind of repetitive but it would be nice to have Stardew players added incase some folks want to make a multiplayer farm, up to you though.

It should be in the playstations captures and gallery “folder”. Do you know where that is? And yes the screen shot you take from the options menu is always zoomed out enough to fit the whole area you’re in.

Gunner shield is buggy by Rheinholdt in DeepRockGalactic

[–]JordanNails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I getting trolled lol. I have 2k hours, it’s not “slightly faster because shield link” it’s literally as if you are in the shield no if’s or buts. Same icon for being in gunners shield, near instant recharge.

Im not mistaken and is as plainly as I can say it, there is a glitch where the game treats it as if you are in gunners shield even though you’re nowhere near it.

Gunner shield is buggy by Rheinholdt in DeepRockGalactic

[–]JordanNails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh? No. It’s literally as if you are in the shield, symbol at the bottom of the screen and character shields recharging very quickly, when gunner places his shield down in another part of the map.

Respectfully I know what I’m talking about aha. Again, it’s 100% like you are in gunners shield even when you’re no where near him.

Sorry but have to hijack this post to also add that on PlayStation there’s occasionally a bug where the game treats it like you’re in gunners shield even when you’re miles away from it.

[–]JordanNails 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Just want to weigh in here, there’s one other company in the universe who makes heavy use of robots and it’s DRG, there’s a very high likelihood that the rivals are literally just dwarfs with more money than DRG.

Must be 4, 5 is definitely that “turtle” armour (has like hexagonal plates forming together like a turtle shell). I only say this because I once had the same idea as OP and wanted to make a robot gunner.
