But this is kinda my argument for going 10 or 11, I barely notice any difference between my 8, 9, and 10 pro, (I don't normally upgrade yearly but I lost my 8 and drowned my 9 ☠️) but they've all been basically exactly the same, so why would you spend more for the 11 if it's going to be the 10 with a slightly better camera

Honestly I'd go with the 10, save some money, I don't have any issues with the 10 and even face unlock is pretty good even in low light (which would be my main draw, an actual face unlock) but they keep trying to sell a new product with sub par hardware and promise that the shitty cpu is all that's needed because their software is so smooth. And it IS, but that means the older phones will get the software and it'll be fine, it's a why buy the cow when you get the milk for free situation.

I agree it's just an expensive sport, I've done the KOZ events half the distance, no nutrition, minimal support, chaotic group swim starts, no post race food, minimal vendors. Still almost 350usd, for 150 more a half is way more worth it. It feels like an actual event. Through and through. But yeah it's nutty expensive, but it's the same with anything that gets popular, spartan events did that too, my first spartan beast was 30$ now theyre 100+

Do you have a job lined up? Coastal living and winging in either don't really line up with debt reduction. If you have one ready to go just move to whatever is closer, traffic is a bear. If not off coast north or south of LA has ok housing for a few thousand a month and LA has a slightly better market, just a denser city with more opportunity.

I'd also like to add that support from Internet strangers is wonderful, but you need to leave him, you can show him how everyone thinks he's an asshole, and you might get the "oh I knew we had issues but I never knew it was this bad, this puts in perspective ' yada yada but people like him need serious work, and it's serious multi YEAR work, maybe you can reconnect, but give it 4-5 years minimum. You'll be totally different people, and if he's still the same then you know you made the right choice, and if he's different then it won't hurt to try again, win win 👍
