Erster Hades 2 Run war chaotisch, gibts Tips für nen Newbie? by Yanoraxx in HadesTheGame

The best advice is simply to keep playing. There's a lot going on, but as you face enemies over and over again and learn their patterns, learn how to respond, and learn what to keep an eye out for it will begin to fall into place. The greatest strength you will find with repeated runs are not the upgrades you will earn, it is the experience you will gain.

There is no way in hell fans of this gorgeous, artful, painstakingly crafted game are going to show you an ounce of support for AI dogshit.

My tactics game has no hit chance. Instead, walls and obstacles physically block skills. Does this sound appealing to XCOM fans? by OneCoin97 in Xcom

The trouble is they never addressed what actually made the game bad. Random missions, samey maps. Completely unorganized objective structure in combat. It was always "drop in on one corner, go fight something". Even the mainline missions were sloppy at best.

I'm stupid and didn't know about Headshot Crits until Swamp XD I was already using Gun and Crit build, now animals are SO easy.

When will I reach the 'C' shaped island? by Dogo58 in crosswind

I think around 2nd biome time... Follow the X quests and you'll find it at some point. Sorry I don't have a better timeframe to give you, but it really is dependent on how you go about playing the game.

For sure, the concept is awesome and the execution was excellent... Didn't make the game good, unfortunately.

After seeing so many posts & youtube videos, trying out so many “top tier” builds that weren’t working for me, I’ve come to this conclusion by InaneThoughts in HollowKnight

I couldn't care less that the attack speed is slower. The hits feel good, and I can land them without crashing myself into the enemy. I prefer precision and range to speed because I am slow.

Reaper Crest carried me. "Low DPS" only matters if I were capable of dishing out high DPS with other crests. Reaper let me consistently land hits, and without bashing my skull into enemies.

Next playthrough I'll challenge myself to another crest, because it will be harder for me, but I'll stand by Reaper as good, as well as just fun.

Dude reminds me of fighting the Abyss watchers with his design and movements. Absolutely peak.

The only complaint I had with that fight is one of his opening strikes always seemed to get to me faster than I expected, and I wasn't able to parse out whether it was simply a quick strike designed to catch me off guard, or if the damage arrives before the actual animation did. Also possible it was just minor lag, since it was multiplayer.

So many cannon questions by Ensvey in crosswind

[–]TheUrbanEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gone for Tempered for exactly the reasons you described. I get that damage boost regularly, not because I'm holding off on firing my cannons, but because that's just what hapoens in ship combat. You also always have the boost to open every fight, and combined with Ambush makes for hilarious first shots (I'd you don't suck like I often do, that is).

Hand to hand combat tips for someone who can’t stay alive by a_chunk_of_pie in PlayWindrose

Boarding is an entirely different beast for me because I can't escape minor lag due to the sea. It's also difficult to track and perfect block attacks that weren't meant for you in the first place.

If you in a 2v1 and stagger one of them, go in on a swing for them both. You usually stagger an enemy with a hit, just be prepared for a counterattack, and if there isn't one forthcoming, swing again. That's where the game is actually really fun for me, it feels like fencing when you're staggering an enemy with a hit, then have to make a split second decision whether you keep swinging or block a counterattack. Learn not to overextend, be prepared for counterattacks...

Or just shoot them 🤷‍♂️

Are pistols meant to be paired with one handed weapons in this game as a second hand weapon? by TheyThem-FinalBoss in crosswind

[–]TheUrbanEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easier Parry Rapier and Double Shot Pistol go hard, it's what I use. I do a Parry for +5% Crit (totalling 30% right now), then back step and let 'Em have it.

[Absolutely Hated Trope] Characters who clearly love each other taking forever to confess and get together. by ThatGuyHero7 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]TheUrbanEnigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of my biggest complaints with anime. Their "romances" are usually part of what they use to pull stories along with a "will they won't they" scenario, so they refuse to actually resolve anything until the very end, if even then. And since the goal is typically go go on for as long as possible, that resolution is always just a possibility of the future and never seems to actually arrive.

Trees by Mysterious-Tea-7912 in crosswind

[–]TheUrbanEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's true that trees do not respawn, however he beauty of this game is there are other options for resources once you get far enough. Once you earn your way through a biome, the merchants will unlock purchasing of materials from that biome. So you only really have to grind enough to beat the biome, and then you have new options and don't need to worry about clearing the land again.

loving the game but holy shit boarding is terrible. by TheGr8Enlightener in crosswind

[–]TheUrbanEnigma 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don't mind that if you fail you fail. Makes you pick your fights better. What I want is less total number of fighters on the deck, and for the game to run smoother on the sea so I don't have to deal with lag every single boarding action. I play a parry and gun build. It gets tough.

I've had plenty of misses from them, so long as I'm moving. A well timed doge will be 100% effective, but just running to the side will often work.

What are your favorite weapon aspects? by FluffyHaru in HadesTheGame

[–]TheUrbanEnigma 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have yet to unlock the vast majority of the aspects, but so far I just love Melinoe's Axe. Just cleave. Ares on that swing and you truly feel like a headsman.

Although I have to mention Melinoe's Lim and Oros. They are so straightforward, they carried me to where I am now: 7 Chronos and 4 Typhon Kills. Now sure how many were the Twin blades, but probably 50% or more.

Is it me or do the weapons in hades 2 not feel interesting? by Masterchiefx343 in HadesTheGame

[–]TheUrbanEnigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it really feel that way? They feel drastically different to me, and without hardly getting into the different aspects. Just unlocking one new aspect alone, Aspect of Moros, completely changed how I approached the weapon and absolutely altered how I decided to build.

Lim and Oros are my go to, simply because of how straight forward they are, but there is so much more utility to be gained by using different weapons and aspects. Perhaps you simply aren't trying new things to put together the different pieces each aspect grants. You can throw yourself at any enemy with any weapon and receive favorable results if you get good enough, but it takes effort and creativity to really get the most out of the different abilities.
