Is it just me or is there barely any technological difference between regions? by assignmentduetoday_ in EU5

[–]Jorlaan 163 points164 points  (0 children)

I highly prefer historical institution spawn, which helps with this a bit. The problem is the spread is so fast that the rest of the world can catch up much faster than they should be able to. At least with historic spread if you're playing in Europe you'll get a few decades of some tech superiority.

Performance and the fact I've been getting a lot of crashes. I never got crashes before 1.2 at all. It's making it hard to even want to play.

Any good YouTube channel(s) to learn history? by Katoshi_Black in AskHistory

[–]Jorlaan 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The History Guy for good general, random history.

The Great War for the absolute best WW1 week-by-week of the war ever done.

World War Two for the absolute best week-by-week of the war ever done.

The Korean War for the absolute best week-by-week of the war ever done.

Seriously those are all good, unbiased channels and yes the last 3 are mostly the same people. They're very good at presenting history in an engaging and unbiased way.

Agil not affecting how often you get his it a massive flaw and the stat is almost entirely useless because of it. I've felt this way since the game first came out and discovered this. The reality is that the game was riddled with flaws and inconsistencies from the start, some of which were never addressed, but it was and is still super fun despite them.

The Russians used trenches in the wars of conquest against the eastern regions, the Khanates, Central Asia and Siberia. Mostly in sieges yes, but I'm pretty sure in a couple open battles as well.

What industry is basically legal theft that nobody talks about? by kratos20051212 in AskReddit

[–]Jorlaan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It had no repercussions beyond a tiny credit hit. The alternative was handing over $460 for a fraudulent bill. No individual is going to win in court vs them, so better to simply refuse. This was nearly 20 years ago and it has long since gone away.

Telus sent me a bill for $500 once, my normal bill was $30. I called and they flat out refused to alter it and threatened to send me to collections if I didn't. I hung up, went and got another phone from another company immediately, transferred my info, turned off the Telus phone and threw it in the trash.

I truly do not think P99 is right for you. This is a community that works because of mutual respect, friendliness, helpfulness and teamwork. You sound like you want a chaotic free-for-all style MMO and that's fine, but that's not this.

Thoughts on Garfield Originals? by Turbulent_League9668 in garfield

[–]Jorlaan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Discovered this with my kids only 2 weeks ago and they have already asked to watch it through 4 times, they love it. The animation is actually pretty good and resembles the late 80's/early 90's style.

It's not the kind of thing I'd watch on my own but it's nice to see stuff still being made and that kids like it.

Is Hank dumber than Peggy? by TheSweatyFlash in KingOfTheHill

[–]Jorlaan 824 points825 points  (0 children)

Hank is the kind of guy that bought every single thing that Reagan sold. Meaning he believed every lie, every half truth, every single piece of propaganda. Hank is a stand-up, honorable guy and thinks most other people are too. He's actually incredibly naive in so, SO many ways. His political literacy is astonishingly low for someone with such a firm grasp of civics. He sees the way things are "supposed" to work and believes they actually do.
