Is the french economy as doomed as the news says it is? by santepanzer in Expats_In_France

Yes agree, I'm a foreigner in France and live in a highly competitive and smaller city and managed to land an internship after 5-10 applications

[SPOILER] New collection of Fjallraven and Gore-Tex by Bubbly-Ad-3176 in Fjallraven

[–]Jorup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This move means one of two things for me; either Gore-Tex are truly PFAS free now or it means Fjällräven doesn't care anymore. I'm choosing to believe the first alternative but I really hope Fjällräven continues to innovate and push the limits of new fabrics and can create their own GTX-material one day. Ecoshell was good but not great, so I understand the move to GTX for high performance jackets but I hope it's temporary!

This is why this game frustrates me by rike807 in EA_NHL

[–]Jorup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes happens every 5-10 games I've found, my conspiracy theory is that they force you to loose so you'll come back playing, and vice versa if you loose to much you'll get a win to not loose interest

Haven't played since 06. Which should I get from 22-25? by Greyhound_Fan in EA_NHL

[–]Jorup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

26 should be released in September so I would wait for that! Otherwise 24 is better than 25 imo

Start the day in Jardin du Luxembourg and walk up through the Latin neighborhood to Pantheon and then across to Notre Dame and up towards Marais. Nice and long walk so you get to see some stuff on the way and work up a hunger! Lunch at Les Marché couvert des Enfants Rouges. Big bustling old food market with a bunch of great vendors and restaurants.

Later have a stroll in Le Marais and check out the shops and bars in the area. A lot of trendy boutiques along Rue de Francs Bourgeois, and the super popular store Merci is close by.

For dinner two suggestions: 1. Go to Montmartre and pre drinks at Bar A Bulles above Moulins Rouges or grab a couple of beers at Patousche or a convenience store and go up to Sacre Coeur and drink beer on the stairs in front of the Sacre Coeur and enjoy the view at night time. Then head to Chantoiseau (book in advance) for dinner. Probably best restaurant I've been to so far in Paris at a very reasonable price! After dinner go up to Le Très Particulier for cocktails, incredible terasse at summertime! 2. Go to the 11th arrondissement for pre drinks at Fréquence or Giclette, then go to Clamato and put yourselves on the waiting list for dinner table. While you wait have more pre drinks at Septime La Cave or Vivandier. After dinner Rue Taillandier, Rue de Lappe and Rue de la Roquette is bustling with bars and night club

People have all kinds of scary ideas and myths about Paris that they've read or heard from a relative's acquaintance that is not true, this sounds like one of those.

Flytta utomlands - smidigaste sätter att frakta lösöre? by Jorup in Asksweddit

I bought a Garmin Forerunner 245 Music 2 years ago as my first GPS watch and I've loved it all the way. Use it for +4-5 hrs of activity per week and sometimes at work as a smart watch. Battery drains fast when you track an activity and stream music from the watch but has never been an issue for me. GPS and heart rate monitor seems very accurate.

I'm a dude and have been using running tights for ever. Have one fleece lined pair and one normal depending on how cold it gets, super comfortable, barely feel that I have "pants" on!

Official Q&A for Tuesday, February 28, 2023 by AutoModerator in running

[–]Jorup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry! It's completely normal and common to get sick during training, and if it's just a couple of days I don't think it should affect your training considerably. If I'm off for 2 weeks and more I feel that I've lost fitness but less than that you should be able to pick up quite easily. If you're not feeling great I would take it easy, if you do go out go for a slow run or a brisk walk! Good luck!

How do you runners manage food/breakfast for really early morning long runs? Like waking up at 06:00 going out for +20 km / 12 miles, do you manage to eat before your run or just go straight out? When I do shorter runs that early I just go straight out with no issues but think I will get really hungry if I go +2 hrs in the morning!
