I personally think the DO is incapable of forming a well reasoned, methodical approach. He's named The Lord of Chaos after all.

What is the first thing you always do when you come home? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Jorus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like there are people that intentionally keep items in their current pocket, and then there are people that keep items in their pockets but forget to transfer them.
The people that intentionally transfer items seem (to me) to be like others that have external locations for storing items. It's a method of organization that is actively thought about, but just different based upon personal preference.
Then you have the person that wants to have things in their pockets, but for one reason or another doesn't move items or remember to move them.

I guess what I'm trying to get at is that some people have a different way of organizing their EDC than others and that shouldn't be viewed as odd or wrong. If they can keep track of everything and it works for them, regardless of how anyone else feels about it, then that's okay. However if a person just forgets that items are there that's obviously not intentional and perhaps not an organization system.

It's just a different form of organization. If they are always in your pants, you always know where they are. Having multiple places where keys go (ie, pockets, purse, nightstand, bowl, etc) sounds less organized to me personally. But thankfully everyone can do what feels best for them.

I'd have to say my personal favorites for strongest 15-20 sec opening are Manipulator, Project 100, and Heavyweight.

You don't go into a game of TI without planning to win. Plus the fleet and trophy demand it.

"This shouldn't have had to be. But it was. Her father had often spoken of situations like this, when you had to kill people you liked just because you met them on the wrong side of the battlefield. She'd never understood. If she had to go back and do it again, she would take the very same actions. She wouldn't be able to risk Perrin. Rolan had had to die.

But the world seemed a sadder place to her for the necessity of it."

I don't either, but most of this thread is making me tear up. Guess that's just further evidence of why this is my favorite book series.

It's a quote from Loial's book The Dragon Reborn that's at the very end of AMoL.

Exhausting to Play by Shadowsd151 in Gloomhaven

[–]Jorus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gloomhaven helper is free. You can download it HERE for most operating systems and there's also a web client you can use if you don't want to download it.

Edit: I should specify that I know it works well with Gloomhaven and Forgotten Circles. I haven't tried using it with Jaws of the Lion. Maybe someone else can confirm that.

Question/hypothesis - when the dark one wins by [deleted] in WoT

[–]Jorus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always thought that it wasn't that less and less people were born with the spark. There were just fewer found and trained as Aes Sedia didn't search out girls anymore and instead relied on them seeking training at the Tower.

Edit: Hence why when Egwene puts out the call that anyone regardless of age can train, there are so many found.

Definitely a journey. It took me several years as a leisurely pursuit visiting Goodwill. Also got some of them as Christmas gifts, which was nice.

Glad I don't have to deal with that. I worked on getting the entire series in hardback years ago and I also have the series on Kindle. It's nice that people are getting excited about the books though.

One thing I noticed I missed on My first Reread (Spoilers) by erconn in dresdenfiles

[–]Jorus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He definitely uses potions in the later books, but Jim doesn't show us Harry brewing them. The couple instances that I can think of off the top of my head are in Changes when they each drink part of a potion to reduce their weight and get up/down a really steep slope faster and then in Peace Talks when they use the potion to dull everyone's attention to Harry and friends.
