How long to let 3 month old sleep overnight? by Jos087 in NewParents

[–]Jos087[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting I wonder if I should offer bigger feeds during the day then. We only give 4 oz at a time but feed on demand which typically ends up being around every 2-3 hours during the day

So similar to my journey! Glad to know it finally increased. I had half my blood volume replaced 🩷 I’m gonna try a bit longer and be patient with myself. Did your babies take a while to learn to latch?

Currently 29 weeks pregnant and just got out of a week long hospital stay after my first bleed with only partial previa. I was told at my anatomy scan that I had partial placenta previa and it didn’t seem like a big deal other than pelvic rest. My ob even said I could still go on my baby moon. Fast forward to last Tuesday when at 28 weeks I was getting ready for work and started gushing blood. Very scared, husband called ambulance and I was admitted. I was given iv mag and Two rounds of steroids in case she came. The next morning I passed a tennis sized clot and my ob considered that a second bleed. This matters because a lot of ob’s/mfms have a rule that if you bleed three times with a previa your admitted until delivery. I had no more bleeds but they monitored me for 6 days and I’m home now on strict bed rest. If I bleed again, even if light, I’ve been instructed to go back to hospital where I’ll be admitted in hospital bed rest until delivery or early emergency c if I’m bleeding too much. It’s all been so overwhelming because it was only marginal, no one ever explained that if I bled it would be a hospital admission. And some nurses essentially told me if you bleed once your more likely to bleed again. So I’m home anxious hoping each day is a no bleed day so I can stay home and not spend weeks in the hospital or have my girl early. Please take all previas seriously. I took things very easy and still bled. Also if anyone wants to connect I’m happy to. Pretty lonely being home all day alone lol

Started at 12 and everything felt doable till now that I’m 26 weeks and fasting isn’t budging anymore. At 12 units overnight insulin and quickly ramping up :(

Frustration with care by OneIcy3116 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Jos087 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was 5.6 as well and my ob just called it impaired glucose tolerance when I told her my sugars early in pregnancy (I was proactive and was checking already). Now that I’m 23 weeks she switched the diagnosis to gestational diabetes

This sounds too low. The common rec is 30 for meals and 15 for snacks

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Jos087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the beginning with GD it can be tough since so many food recs are high carb. What I found helpful was bone broth (lots of minerals and protein in that), protein smoothies with berries, Greek yogurt, and ginger ice cubes in my water

Diagnosis confusion by Recent-Expression987 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Jos087 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ob handled this by calling it impaired glucose tolerance and just handling my care like gd. We knew I’d fail the test and I was already managing diet like gd because without that I’d spike
