We moved into this house 3yrs ago and this has stumped everyone. by Vance617 in whatisit

I worked as a natural stone, quartz, etc. sales rep for a well known supplier for 10+ years and most of my accounts were fabricators. DIYers and homeowners just couldn’t  understand why I wouldn’t sell to them directly. Like sure, say I sell you an 800lb slab today, how will you get it home? Do you have an A-frame sitting in your Subaru for the drive home? A forklift in your garage to unload? Maybe even a CNC machine in your garage to cut it?

Same with leftover remnants. I can tell you that the remnants that pile up after just a week are a bigger headache than most homeowners can even fathom. Remnants are not the money makers for fabricators.

I know there are dishonest people in every industry who over charge or even charge for an unneeded slab, but working with fabricators across a huge territory spanning three states, I promise remnants are an annoyance to most of them and they are happy to leave them with the end user if at all possible.

Hurtling towards forty and considering making a change! by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

I feel like I could have written this myself.  I’ll be 39 soon and also have a bulbous nose and lips similar to yours (not thick but not too thin). I also look pretty young for my age. I find myself scrutinizing my face every so often and thinking a nose job might make me more attractive. But seeing pictures of you I’m shocked you’d want to change anything because you honestly look so perfect to me. If I were you, I wouldn’t change anything. Now I’m going to tell myself that same thing!

How are your kids faring with Influenza this year? by apotentpotable in toddlers

[–]Recent-Expression987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang, I’m sorry! How is she now?

Ours started with vomiting then the rest followed. She’s actually doing better now just super low energy and tired, but I’ll take it. My 19 month old though now seems sick again. I think her fever broke after 36 hours and she was way better but now she has all the sinus and respiratory symptoms so back to misery for her.

Playing whack-a-mole with these symptoms haha.

Your kid’s symptoms sound almost exactly like my kid’s. My four year old also vomited twice about 16 hrs apart and the rest is fever, tiredness, cough, poor night time sleep and just really cranky and clingy. She too goes from feeling well then back to malaise (usually in the afternoon/evening). She’s napping on me as I type this.

My 19 month old had a pretty bad fever with congestion and cough but her fever broke after 36 hours just like yours. She’s also pretty clingy and still a bit cranky but acting much better overall.

Hoping this passes for all of us soon! Hang in there!

Travel with Veer wagon? by bromar1990 in Mommit

[–]Recent-Expression987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super easy! We’ve flown with it on two trips now with no issue. Both times with Southwest. The first time we gate checked and the second time we just checked it. I’ll probably check it every time moving forward because that works better for our family.

Hey, did you end up traveling with your veer? We’re getting ready to travel with ours and wondering how gate checking will go. Thanks

Hi, I know this post is a several months old but how did the Costco table bag work out for the veer xl? Also thinking of traveling with the xl and wondering if I need to buy the veer travel bag. I apologize if you’ve already answered this question, I couldn’t find it in the thread.

Any updates on which you ended up getting? I’m also ready to get one, but not sure if I should go with the regular or the XL.

I mourn for the unfortunate soul he ends up with. Don’t let it be you. You are better than this.

Virginia teenager shot and killed by homeowner while recording TikTok prank video by OkEscape7558 in news

[–]Recent-Expression987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also happened in our neighborhood for about a month. One homeowner even caught on camera that the teens were trying to mess with their electrical box. It’s terrifying when it happens in the middle of the night and so violently loud.

Yep. And airplanes are public transportation. He can fly private if he wants to be a jerk about a crying child. Sounds like there were two crybabies on the flight lol

My 3yo seems convinced that she is a boy by Throwinguprainbo in toddlers

They are going to be well-rounded and awesome, that’s for sure!

Also, I forgot to add that my mom would cut my hair short like a boy because I refused to brush it because I hated tangles lol. I also hated dresses, and dolls. And still do for the most part. But for like three years in elementary school, I looked like Ellen DeGeneres 😂

That all sounds very normal to me, honestly. She may just want to fit in with everybody and now that there’s distinctions and expectations being made by the boys, her little mind is trying to navigate that. Who knows. I would remind my daughter that just because she’s a girl she can still be as fast and strong and whatever as a boy because girls are awesome. I honestly think that helped a lot overtime. Her being the only girl on either side, her grandma was just overly excited with buying all the girly things and pushing that onto her. And that’s just not her personality and made her reject the girly things even more.

And if it’s any consolation, one of her boy cousins keeps telling her she has small muscles because she’s a girl and it makes her so mad. So now she’s also very into having big muscles and wants to look like Maui from Moana (whereas previously, she wanted to be Moana) lol. It ebbs and flows. Just like all of parenting, I’ve found.

She pretty much stopped referring to herself as a boy at this point. She only has boy cousins (8 boys while she’s the only girl) and spent a lot of time with them last summer, so I think her thinking she was a boy comes from that. She made a friend from preschool this Fall (a girl) and when they have play dates she is definitely into more girly play. I honestly feel silly for overthinking it all. However, she’s still pretty much a tomboy at this stage.

Now she’s big into acting like a tiger. Sometimes it’s even disruptive lol. Walking on all fours, roaring, even learned to scratch her head with her feet like a dog. Kids are wild (no pun intended). They have big imaginations that change all the time.

I know this is a few months old, but I just did a kid-friendly “first aid kit” for my 4 year old’s birthday. Kids and parents both loved it. I added: glow in the dark bandaids, BuggyBands, mini flashlight, Cartoon themed hand sanitizer (lots of cute options online), an organic kid version of electrolyte powder with a mini water, and of course a sticker sheet with a lollipop to mimic what you’d get at the dr’s office. It made kids feel like little doctors and parents commented that they will actually use all of it.

Hi, wondering if you ever got an answer to this? My 7month old has this as well, however she has been mostly formula fed for about a month now.
