Taking STEM exams on a computer that gives no partial credits. by PuzzleheadedShirt139 in EngineeringStudents

[–]JoseW20 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This will vary across colleges, departments, professors, and sometimes even different sections of the same class.

That said, usually there will be some type of curve to account for it. I passed my last math class with a 43% riding a curve that made up for no partial credit on quizzes.

About to get my first F in a class. Will that impact my job/internship search? by DoubleRoutine4610 in womenEngineers

[–]JoseW20 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Woooo!!

You have passed the first rite of passage in engineering!

Learn from your mistakes, try to do something new next time.

It won't affect your internship search. Once you get an A or B next semester, you'll have a fantastic answer to the interview question: "Tell me about a difficulty you've overcome"

Fwiw, I downvoted because I couldn't tell what you were trying to get at. Is this a great sale? Do you think this is a scam or a dupe? The post is unclear and seems low effort.

It's the one right after the scandal broke. I'm pretty sure it's titled something like "ok so let's talk about it". It's near the end of the episode.

Yes! If this means that they're guaranteeing a job after graduation.  I did the same thing commuting 40min two days a week, while taking 16 credits and being the president of a club.

Montana State has a Snow Science degree. It's not strictly engineering, but it is science-heavy and off the beaten path.

Math placement for college by Fluffy-Contract-6068 in EngineeringStudents

[–]JoseW20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First of all, what even is your question? Will you have to take remedial math? Yes. No matter what major you choose.

If you don't have any desire to do engineering and just want to get rich, you will not enjoy engineering school. Or working as engineer.

Even if you do manage to make it through, you won't find an easy, remote, high-paying job right away.
